Painful peeing 5 days after c/s

When I'm almost done peeing -- so when the bladder is nearly empty -- it gets really painful.  WTH?

Re: Painful peeing 5 days after c/s

  • UTIs are really common after C-sections because of the catheter.  That's my first thought.  Is this new?

Same thing happened to me!!!! I went in to get checked for UTI.. No uti or bladder infection. They said it is sometimes common because of everything going back into place and the pressure on the bladder. I would just call to get in and make sure it's not. But continue to use the spray bottle ater peeing to "clean" things up a bit.

  • Yep, I had a UTI after my first c-section so I would definitely get it checked.

  • Get checked for a UTI, but I have the same kind of pain. It was worse after my first c/s - I remember literally gasping in pain and holding my stomach when I was almost finished peeing. It lasted a few weeks and then went away. This time it hurts some, too, but it's not nearly as bad. For me, the pain is way different from a UTI (I have chronic UTIs, so unfortunately a lot of experience as to what they feel like for me).

  • I had this and it turned out to be a UTI.  I am very prone to them, so it makes sense I got it after a catheter, etc.

  • I had pain a few days after mine. According to my OB, it's because of the uterus.

  • I have been experiencing the same thing. I go for my 2 week PP appointment tomorrow so I will get it checked out then. It doesn't really feel llike a UTI but it sure hurts like hell. I would say mine started around 5-7 days post-op, just like OP.
