WTF Wednesday

Alright ladies, lets hear 'em!

Mine: WTF girl in my office who barely has her life together. How in the world did you think asking me if "this was planned" in the middle a completely different conversation was appropriate? I'm the one who's married and has been with DH for years, your boyfriends of the last 6 months I can't even keep track of!

Me: 28 DH: 33

DD: Born 7/30/13, 2 years old

Re: WTF Wednesday

  • WTF. My friend is having a girl in April, but for "religious reasons" she and her H really wanted a boy. So now that are decorating the nursery gender neutral and buying all gender neutral clothes so they "can use it for their next one". But she told me if it was a boy they would have decorated the nursery blue and buying gender specific clothes. I can see having a preference, but I feel like it is just wrong to be this disappointed.  I'm a little sad for this baby girl.

  • WTF SO?! We are moving day after tomorrow and you haven't helped one freaking bit! It's to the point where my back hurts so badly I can barely move, but our stuff needs to go in the truck tomorrow afternoon, and our bedroom still needs to be packed. I hate moving with him, it's the only time he acts like this, but I swear, next time I'm just going to pack my stuff and let him deal with his on his own.

  • WTF self!

Waking up at 1:45 to comfort crying 11 month old is logical... not being able to fall back asleep until 5:30 am is not.

Ugh. Gonna be a long day.

  • WTF OB office? You operate out of one of the top hospitals in the country, and you can't get your s**t together. I had reservations about coming back after the horrible way you handled my m/c. Then, finding out this morning that you've had my NT results since Friday and just haven't bothered to call? After you did the exact same thing with our genetic testing after my d&c? Not ok. Well, thanks, you just made my decisions to switch doctors that much easier.

  • WTF Weather?!?  I've got a head cold...AGAIN.  This time I know it's because the temperature can't seem my make up it's mind.  It's either 15* or it's 50* and my body is NOT happy about that.  I'm so ready for warmer weather now!
  • WTF coworkers? How come because you have something to say to me I have to drop what i'm doing and pay attention? Maybe I'm concentrating on something. Maybe I'm in the middle of typing a sentence. Maybe I'm chewing a bite of food. Just gimme a sec before you start blathering!

This is REALLY WTF?!?! I've never heard of a religion that prefers boys to girls (cultures, maybe).  However, IMHO God loves ALL the little children, boy or girl and these people should too. (Sing it with me now!! Jesus loves the little children...)

My MiL did this after DS was born. She was always calling him her baby and how it was okay if he called her mama too. Um no. We had to have several come to Jesus talks with her before she cut it off and backed off.

Hubby hasn't packed a SINGLE thing.  I'm not doing any of his stuff, he's got a busy week ahead of him.

I actually cried the other night because nobody says anything about how its my child, too! Yes, yes, I know this is my child, just as it is also the product of certain interactions with the hubs, blah blah blah. I just don't understand people focusing on the hubs so much.

I have relatives who are also Jewish and live in Israel and I have never heard of this. They had two daughters before having a son and I never once heard of them having issues with that. My uncle is a rabbi and my aunt is just as involved with their synagogue as he is.

So was her mother disappointed when they found out she was a girl? I'd love to see how that makes her feel.

This gender disappointment BS is starting to piss me off.

  • WTF every day at lunch... I am the only pregnant woman that works in my company, and because I am the Receptionist (and so it makes it easier on everyone) I take my lunch later than everyone else because I have to answer the phones and take messages all the time among other things. So I TRY to take my lunch every day at 1pm, and somehow everyday it seems to be this big surprise that I need someone to cover the phones and answer the door so I can eat my food in peace (which rarely happens bc no one else feels like answering the door.) Most of the time the few people I have to transfer the phones to won't answer their phones for the first 10-15 minutes...and when they finally do I transfer the phones, turn off my lights and close my door and literally eat my lunch in near darkness (thankfully I'm next to a fairly big window) just so people will let me eat my lunch in peace. Instead I will have people look in my Receptionist window and see that I'm eating and will still knock on my window and make me get up and and open my door for things that could have EASILY waited for me to be done eating my food at the very least. Ex: I was literally taking a bite of my sandwich when a woman comes up to my window and knocks on it then points to my door... I quickly swallow my food and get up to open my door and the only thing she needed was to know where the Break Room was... and there was literally 12 other people ( I counted) within about 15 feet of us that she could have asked. Angry I'm sure when people walk past my office all day it probably seems to them like I'm always eating. But guess what jerks? I'm pregnant and very hungry, let me eat in peace!
  • WTF weather! My son has yet to go to school this week.  Could we at least get two days of school in this week?

  • I'm seriously annoyed with MIL. She has told us that every Wednesday she will watch DD so DH and I can have a date night. We didn't ask this, she offers. So, the last 3 weeks DH has been working Wednesday which is his normal day off and we have not needed her to come. Today is the same, but I let her know that she could come see DD or take her for awhile if she wanted to just see her since it has been so long. Not a big deal right? Well, this woman about had a heart attack that we lived an hour away to the point where we finally caved and moved closer. As in five minutes away closer. Would it kill the woman to come say hi??!! Poor DD. All day she has been saying 'Gamma? Gamma?'. Its been over an hour past her normal showup time and she has not even sent a text to let me know she wasn't coming. Pretty annoyed. I cleaned my whole freaking house.... I'm not pregnant or anything...

  • WTF company I work with. I sent you the dimensions of your shipment at the end of last week and you've yet to send anyone to pick it up. Now, you call 10 minutes before the end of the day and bully me and ask to speak to my supervisor because you want to pick it up today and have missed the deadline?! Heck no, that's messed up. If I didn't get so much commission off your company, I'd transfer you to someone else so they could deal with your crap. Rude.

Yes. This. You really should re-read what the OP wrote and not assume she is jumping to conclusions about the Jewish religion. She very clearly stated in both posts that she made that her friend told her she was disappointed "for religious reasons" and her friend told her "there are some things men can do in the church that women can't". The OP was merely repeating what she had been told by her friend. I, too, was surprised because I have found the Jewish religion to be one that promoted equality moreso than others, but the OP was not giving her opinion...she was repeating what her friend told her. It sounds like her friend has no religious basis and may be just acting like that is why she is disappointed.  But no need to shoot the messenger.

  • WTF car. You decide to break down a couple miles AFTER my warranty has expired?? Thanks so much for being so considerate. That's $300 I could have used for baby gear!
  • WTF Earthquake repair co-ordinators! Calling at 7pm the night before you want to be here at 7am in the morning is completely inconsiderate. Not only that but you want ALL the furniture moved out of our bedroom for the 2nd time (because you didn't do the job right the first time) so you can pull up the carpet and recheck the floor.

So you're suggesting the pregnant women helps her husband lug all the furniture without other available help due to lack of notice? Not happening.

Plus, it's our first sleep in for weeks together and even though we want the repairs finished since we had barely any notice, you can arrange a better time/day with us.
