Sometimes I get super lazy and can't be bothered to hand wash the stuff that says it's necessary. Sadly I have lost a few plastic lids and travel mugs to this
Also, I soak and scrub before using the DW. DH is against this (although the last load he did, he saw how much food was left on and now understands why I do it).
Anyone else prewash their dishes, pots, and pans?
Pretty much! At the very least I rinse before putting it in the dishwasher, but most times scrub it down.

I wash most pots & pans by hand, so yes I soak them (for at least a day but everything else goes into the dishwasher. I scrape food into the garbage can but that's it. We used to have a problem with food getting stuck on dishes but we got a new dishwasher and if I run hot water at the sink before I start it then they all come out clean.
DH showed in an article in Consumer Reports where it said you waste more water pre-rinsing dishes than the dishwasher even uses...or something like that.
I put everything in the Dishwasher if I can manage it. Except DH's knives, they are culinary grade and he would keel me. I hate handwashing dishes, and will let those suckers pile up as long as possible.
Married to DH since April '99
Mom to 4 kiddos!
TTC #5 !!
When I first buy something that's not supposed to go in the dishwasher, I'm really careful. Eventually something happens and I just want to clear out my sink and doesn't matter, everything into the dishwasher.

I used to presoak, but since buying and using Quantum Finish tablets I almost never do anymore. Not most dishes anyways, I just throw plates, bowls, etc. straight in, those tablets take everything off well. Pots that are exceptionally cooked on I soak a bit and maybe scrub, and I like to soak cutlery a bit too, but other dishes go in filthy and come out sparkling. And no, I don't work for the Quantum Finish company! lol

I wash all of DS's bottles and my standing mixer bowls and attachments by hand other than that if it fits in the dishwasher it gets washed. The bottles would go in, but our dishwasher is old and jank and didn't clean the bottles well.
Due to the fact that I can't see the whole title on mobile...I thought this was going to be about things you put in your vagina. Slightly disappointed.
I put everything in the dish washer. If it doesn't make it, it wasn't going to last long in our house anyway.
When we have one we will probably do everything..haha

I handwash my pots and pans, cutting boards, nice knives, and cooking utensils. The pots and pans I handwash because they say it'll make them last longer (and they're already over 4 years old and kinda cheap) and the other stuff because I don't have many and if I don't and need them the next day then I'd have to wash them anyway.
I'm a SS... Everything except our good knives get stuck in the dishwasher... and stuff with super stuck on grossness that I know the dishwasher won't take off.nbsp;
This! I am super protective of my knives...can't stand when they get dull!
Everything but our good knives and pots & pans go in the dishwasher. We got a really nice set of Calphalon pots for our wedding and they're so spendy, I would hate myself if they got ruined!
We hand wash pots and pans, plastic containers, and most kitchen tools. Everything else goes in the dishwasher. We pre-rinse but I hate it. My in-laws have a Miele dishwasher that doesn't require anything to be pre-rinsed and I am jealous. I want that machine.
Re: CP: Things You Put In...
DH is in charge of dish-washing. He prefers to wash by hand, for some insane reason.
Maybe he thinks pruned fingers are sexy
Let me stroke you.
Same with mine. He wears gloves to keep his hands from getting wet.

Ribbed for your pleasure.
We soak and rinse off but 90% of things go in the dishwasher.
DH is our dishwasher because I do the cooking. He's great with a scrubbie.
The only thing I don't put in the dishwasher is the stemware we got as a wedding gift.
