For mobile users: using a name you like but don't love?
DH and I are having a very difficult time finding a name for DD. The one name I truly adore, Felicity, DH vetoed. We've other discussed names and although I like them, I don't love them. Did anyone ending up using a name you liked instead of a name you loved? Have you grown to love it?
ETA: I think it has been harder because we decided on DS's name quickly and easily. We both loved it and knew what it would be as soon as we found out he was a boy. I'm worried I won't feel the same way about her name since it has taken longer to find one.
Re: Using a name you like but don't love?
That's funny, my number one was Felicity as well and Dh said no. We kept looking until we found one that we both really liked, and it helped me that it had the same ending sound. Even though I loved Felicity for years, now I can't picture my daughter as anything but Ainsley- it suits her well!
My opinion is, no matter what you choose, once it is on the baby you love, you will love it, even if you only really liked it to start with.

I was trying to figure out how to say that. Agree wholeheartedly!
Good point! I hope that is the case for me
I also agree with the PP who said you will love the name on your child. We are pregnant with our second and talking about names again. Even though I still like most of the names we considered the first time, I can't imagine our daughter by any other name.
We're starting the name search semifresh this time, but it is interesting to see how we feel about all the names we talked about last time.

I think you will grow to love it. My fianc? and I had a very hard time choosing a name. He likes more plain Jane and simple, and I prefer unisex and unique. I refused anything super popular right now. But he insisted we used Olivia in honor of someone very special to him. We named her Madelyn Olivia. I only liked Madelyn, but it was the only name we could agree on that flowed with Olivia.
But now I couldn't imagine her having any other name. It grew on me.
My opinion is, no matter what you choose, once it is on the baby you love, you will love it, even if you only really liked it to start with.
Agree. I loved the name Vivienne and I am still pushing for it but he hates it. We picked Ivy and I love her name and it fits her but I still wish I could've had a Vivienne.
