S/O Dh got up with the baby..

I never appreciated how wonderful it is to have this ^ until I had Frankie. My ex husband never changed one diaper, ever! Never had them by himself except for one time after I left them with him for a few hours. He was the worst possible person to have children with and yet we had three.

Which makes me appreciate how different my husband is now compared to my ex. I love that he will change a poopy diaper on his own, try to feed him, takes him out without me and isn't afraid to be a dad. I think I need to tell him this today.

On the flip side I don't appreciate how he dresses lo for the day. The man cannot match anything and everything he puts him in is brown. And that he always times rough housing with lo right after he drinks a bottle, bad timing everytime lol!

So what do you appreciate that your husband or so does with lo? What do you not appreciate that he does with lo? lol

  • My hubby is also not afraid to change a poopy diaper.  He's a great father and very helpful.  He does her baths too. I laughed when you said your DH can't dress LO because my DH always finds the oddest combinations when he dresses her too.

I usually am the one up early in the morning and I get DD dressed for the day.  One day, DH did it and he put her in a pink sweater, pink tights, and then put a pair of undies ontop.  You know those frilly undies that are supposed to cover up the diaper under a dress.  I thought it was funny and took a pic.image

  • I love that DH gets up with her in the morning to change her and give her a bottle so that I can rest and they can bond. He always carries the car seat thing when we're together so that I don't have to, and heaps praises on me when I manage to clean during the day.  He loves watching Blue's Clues with her and singing the mail song to make her laugh.

    We've got some awesome husbands.

  • I appreciate that if he is home when she wakes up I can elbow him and say "Your turn" and he only grumbles a little bit before he gets up with her to feed her, change her, and get up with her for the day while I lay in bed. That is always awesome.

Oh and yesterday he got home early for a change, so I got to go to the gym and he stayed with a sick, teething, grumpy a$$ baby. He entertained her for an hour and then did her whole bedtime routine :)

There isnt much that I dont like. He cant put an outfit together to save his life. He also will feed her all bread if no one is looking. And I have to tell him to the T how much to feed and what.

Edit to add: I hate hate that he never wraps the diaper after he takes them off and half the time forgets to put them in the diaper pail. So they lay there on the changing table unwrapped. Gross!

  • I love that I have a very hands on husband. He changes diapers, cuts her fingernails, plays with her, has no issues staying with her on the weekends so I can get out for a bit. I couldn't ask for a better partner.

There isn't anything I don't love or would complain about other than the fact that he is really busy at work right now so he's pretty much non existent during the week. But not much can be done about that since its his job.

  • My husband is awesome.  I thought he'd be one of those that didn't change a diaper, but he jumps right in.  He hasn't ventured out alone, but does keep him at home if I need to get out and does a great job.  He's a great daddy!

Like your husband, he sticks with a color or two.  He thinks all B should wear is black or navy.  Haha.  Or, well, you know, nothing but a diaper when it's 68 in the house.

  • My H is also really great with Graham, and like a lot of you ladies, I have come to appreciate him a lot more now that we have the baby.

He works a weird schedule and I work MondayFriday, so whenever he's off he has Graham all day by himself. He never complains about anything baby related. He does the whole nighttime routine basically every night because he can get him to sleep so easily. Sometimes I think he's a better parent than I am because I get frustrated easily, especially during the colic phase. He is pretty awesome!
