USPS VENT update

I posted yesterday about never getting my Vera Bradley diaper bag and the run around I was getting from my local post office. Went there this morning since I still didn't receive it yesterday and they said its showing as delivered. Talked to the carrier and he said he left it on the front porch. Well I have a giant dog pretty sure if something was left on the porch he would have went nuts. Nothing ever showed up. They checked again and said it must just be lost. Sorry can't help you?!? Seriously there is nothing they can do. Apparently not bc I didn't buy insurance for it well you can't get insurance if its under 100 and it was so that's pointless. And I still have no diaper bag!! I'm so upset and pissed off idk what to do!!!

    This has happened to me before, too.  They wound up dropping off a package at a neighbor's house, and about two weeks later the neighbor got around to bringing the package.  Could that be a possibility?

    Is there any way you can go through Vera Bradley and file a missing package claim? I've had to do that before as well.   

    I'm sorry you are dealing with this.   I've also found my USPS branch to be extremely unhelpful and just downright rude.

    I just spoke with Vera Bradley's customer service and they are sending me a new one free of charge and over nighting it. They were so helpful!!

    We did consider that maybe a neighbor could have it but we see them all every day. We live on one of those streets where everyone has known everyone else for years. My ILs live a block away so we thought it could have gotten sent to their house instead but still nothing.

    I asked the customer service rep I talked to what happens if the other shows up? She said well I guess you will have 2 diapers bags!! Umm ok. I'd feel kinda guilty about that. But she said if the post office lost it they don't usually show back up.

    Our USPS can't leave anything if we aren't there because it would be stolen, so they leave the slip and we pick up everything at the post office on Saturdays.  You can set that up with the USPS at the post office and possibly with your carrier.

    On Halloween we put out a bowl of candy after we got sick of the hundreds of trick-or-treaters and someone even took the bowl we left the candy in.  We don't leave anything on the step that we aren't ok with having stolen.
