    Things could have gone worse. but they definately could have gone better. MaKenna is still in state custody as of now. Because our homestudy wasnt completed before she was born (waiting on reference letters and then our SW got into a bad car accident) ocs is going to completely start over with a homestudy. They told us they are going to do an expedited home study so that they can place her with us. Our lawyer was pushing for ocs to back off and to treat this as an adoption since that is what it originally was. But the judge ruled with ocs. So we are looking at some time before she can come home. ocs is getting fingerprints and basic backgrounds done. pretty much they want some stuff to feel comfortable letting her come to us before everything is finished. but that could be 2 weeks from now up until march 21st. The judge said that she would be here before then as long as long everythign comes back clean. If she is discharged from the hospital before ocs has what they need then she will be going to a temporary foster home :-( But they are going to let us see her once they can get the clearances for us to do that. So just a minor set back we think, its not a matter of her being with us its just when. Thank you for thinking about us...

    At that sounds super stressful. Glad you at least know the direction things are headed. Good luck and keep us posted.

    I will definately keep everyone posted. My biggest thing right now is just being able to see MaKenna. And I really dont understand why they couldnt use what was already completed for our homestudy instead of completely starting over. We had 3 home visits with the social worker, all of our backgrounds came back good. It really makes no sense to me to completely start over. But I guess if this is what we have to go through then so be it. We will do anything for this baby girl..
