Super clingy?

Wow...DS has been very clingy lately and showing separation anxiety...He will no longer go to anyone and even has to warm up to DH...I know DH feels sad about it, but I guess thats what happens since DH doesnt spend nearly as may hours with DS than I do.  Anyone else notice LO's clinginess?

Re: Super clingy?

  • Elliot's been like this more and more lately. I'm loving it because he's usually a touch-me-not.

Haha. This made me laugh because DS is also this way an I can't wait until he allows me to hold him more!
  • Same here!  DS will actually crawl over to me and start tugging at my jeans and pull himself up trying to get into my lap and says "mama" over and over again until I pick him up.  Stick out tongue
  • DS is only super clingy when he's teething...but at that point he doesn't know what he wants.  If he's down he whines and whines and reaches his sweet little arms up for me, but then once I'm holding him he reaches for the floor! haha

As far as separation anxiety goes, I think sometimes he has some of this at night time.  He's a great sleeper, but a few nights these past 2 weeks he's been waking up crying and will only put his head down to go back to sleep once we walk in the room.  He's then constantly picking his head up to see if we are still there.  It's sweet and exhausting at the same time!

I think he does pretty well with anxiety thing because my mom and MIL watch him during the week while we are at work.  Maybe we'll skip that phase??!!

And he still doesn't say mama or dada :( all in good time!

  • Anja is getting to be a tad bit clingy to me occasionally. In all honesty though, she has not a lot of loyalty. She'll go to whoever, stranger or not, almost always.

  • Yes, my DD is very clingy, but also to DH.  She warms up to her nanny each day, but cries at first each day when I hand her to the nanny.  She cries if my Mom or anyone else holds her.  Don't really know what to do about it.  We get out and socialize, but she still doesn't like it if a friend wants to hold her (and she's so dang cute that everyone wants too, ha!).
  • DD had some extra clingy days last week, but I am not sure if it is WW 37, teething, or just because I messed up her schedule.

  • I guess DS is getting bored with me b/c now when he sees DH, he immediately wants to go to him. It was one of the reasons Monday was hard...DH was trying to get some work done on the house, and DS would cry every time his daddy walked by. He had some separation anxiety around 5 and 6 months, but he's doing better with it now.

  • Yes! Evie is teething and going through separation anxiety. It's tough but I do love all the extra hugs and cuddles I've been getting:
