Ugh- we had the opportunity to move my
kids from one daycare to another (same daycare, just new location that
was way closer to home, so less interstate travel, which I hate to do
with them). So, plan was to move them in August, when they would
naturally do 'room change' (moving up in their rooms if appropriate) but
the daycare let me know that they won't have room then, and I would
need to decide immediately if I wanted them to move. Well, my husband
is out of town on business, so I tried to confer with him, but ended up
just doing so myself, thinking that DD will have some feeding issues at
first, but will get better with time. So, I took them the last two days
and stayed with them at daycare for a bit, so both kids would
acclimate. I left DD there today, and she cried for a second, but then
was scoped up by a teacher and stopped. I have been worrying about her
ever since, so called the daycare, and she ate .5 oz from her morning
bottle, and 3 oz from her noon bottle, but no food. I knew it would
happen, but I just hate it!!!!! I want to quit my job so bad, but my
husband doesn't think we can afford it. DD is horrible with new
environments (it makes me wonder about other things as well, like
autism) and I just thought me going there and trying to ease them in
would make it better. I have little confidence in this new teacher's
abilities to get her to eat (or, her care about her eating) so I am
thinking of switching back to our old site- if that is even a
possibility. How long do you think I should give it before I need to
make that decision? I just hate regression.......:(

Re: XP- I want to quit!!!!
IMHO it takes at least 4-6mo for DS to fully adjust to new places/schedules (classes, etc.). Personally, I moved every 4 years as a child to the same town(s), and although I stayed in the same town and new the same people - it still took 6mo to make the new life my "norm".
Regression with this situation (I feel) is quite normal, she was taken out of somewhere she knows and placed somewhere else. Its probably just as hard for the teachers/caretakers who are with her because she is coming in the middle of the year when other children are already adjusted. Not sure why daycares make such drastic changes (money? IDK) because its stressful for everyone involved, including you - you need to trust people you don't know to take care of your child.
Personally, I would give this change a few months. If after 6+mo you don't see any improvements, then think about switching back - otherwise I think IMO it would be too soon.
