Might be twins!?

My doctor was using the portable ultrasound machine in her office and said that the picture wasn't very good but it looked.like there might be 2 sacs! So she sent me across the street to the hospital to get a better ultrasound done. The ultrasound tech couldn't tell me anything!! I'm freaking out excited at the possibility because my fiance said he saw her put "Baby A" and "Baby B" but without confirmation from a medical professional I'm unsure. He keeps saying "I know what I read on that screen, she measured one and marked it baby A the moved over and measured the other and marked it baby B" He seems a little insulted that I need to hear it from the Dr. and her office closed before the results came in. How am I supposed to sleep tonight with visions of 2 little angels in my tummy but not know for sure!!??

She said she could loose her job by telling me anything and I completely understand but was heartbroken, even cried on her table. You could tell she felt for me but policies are policies. If the Dr thought there were 2 and my fiance swears on the Baby A B, I want to just accept it but I need the confirmation that can't come just yet. I'm too excited for words about being pregnant at all, but twins!!?? seems too good to be true!!

That's messed up that NOBODY could tell you anything. I've never heard of that. While the u/s tech couldn't diagnose anything she sure as heck could tell me basic info like if their are 1 or 2 babies. I'm sorry you are having to wait but it sure sounds like you are having twins if you saw two sacs and they labeled them A and B! How many weeks?

congrats! And i am confused, was there an issue? Any time my ob sent me for an immediate u/s, i went right back to her office after. she sent yoy for an initial u/s and sent you home? Why didnt she meet with you after??

Thank you, thank you!! She couldn't get a good enough picture on the portable and she wanted to verify my due date and if there were in fact 2 sacs. My LMP was 122712 and have a funky cycle so my ovulation was 11413, I implanted not long after had spotting, so it is really early.

Really? my tech said it looks like twins, pulled out the dildo cam and confirmed it.

I did NOT see a doctor at all the day of my u/s

Ugh! How frustrating! It seems like you fell through the cracks of the system. I understand why techs can't confirm anything, but it seems like a doctor could have contacted you immediately to tell you the results. This makes me so happy my OB and RE personally performed all ultrasounds and my MFM saw me within minutes after!

While it seems utterly ridiculous, some hospitals are like this. I had a m/c diagnosed on vacation in CA and the tech couldn't nor wouldn't say anything about what she saw.

Let us know when you find out! Exciting! That is so strange though, our tech told us immediately and gave us our u/s photos in a card that said "congrats! It's twins!" Maybe she had a doc confirm it when she left the room? Does seem odd!

I had to explain to my MIL and dh when they thought I was joking about this pregnancy being twins...

They just dont put baby A and baby B on things for no reason. They are professionals and dont joke around when its something serious like that. Congrats lady and welcome!

A tech will often not say anything if it is bad news.

i.e. there may have been 2 sacs but one showed nothing inside.

I know I would not want to be a tech and have to hand out heart breaking news.

I hope it's twins for you!!

The tech at our hospital told us they were twins. Too bad noone would tell you. I only found out at 20 weeks, imagine the surprise haha. They are 6 weeks old now. Congrats on your pregnancy!

They finally called me back late in the day, then I spent the entire evening calling everyone in my family because ....

It's TWINS!!!

There are two sacs, each with a heartbeat and they are ok!!!!
