Infertility

Just got off phone with RE

We were discussing what went wrong with our previous cycle and what we're gonna do next.  He told me that my body had responded well to the meds and we had ideal embryos, so it was most likely that the embryos just didn't attach or that they attached, but stopped growing.

He also told me that "excess weight" can cause lower quality eggs/embryos; soooo it looks like I've gotta kick up my exercise and get back on Weight Watchers.  Anyone else in a similar position?

It looks as though we'll be starting up again in March and have an April ER/ET.  I'm super excited to get started again and am (not-so-)patiently waiting to see what the April cyclers will be named! Smile

  • I'm sorry this cycle didn't work out. I do wish you lots of sticky baby glue for April.

  • I am doing weightwatchers right now (started 1/1) in order to lose weight to qualify for shared risk.  I love it!  I have tried every diet in the world and I honestly don't feel like I am on a diet at all.  Their app is awesome, too, and makes it so easy to track.   I've seen better (and steadier) results too!  I cannot say enough good things.

Good luck with your next cycle!

Thank you!  I've actually done WW before, but just didn't stick to it long enough.  It's a great program, though, and it definitely works.  I love it.

  • My RE hasn't said anything about it, but I just joined WW myself seeing as how I have an extra 25-30 pounds hanging around the lower half of my body. Maybe we should start a WW group!
    Married 2007
    3 Clomid IUIs -- BFNs
IVF #1 never made it to transfer
    On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013
    Follistim/Menopur/Ganirelix
Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

I would love that!  A WW for IVF group would be great!

yay! I would love it! And I could definitely use the group enthusiasm since my will power seems to have taken a leave of absence, lol! How would we do it? A weekly check-in, maybe? Recipe exchanges?

We used to do a daily check-in on GP, but I think daily might be a bit much.  We could do weekly and we could share any WW friendly recipes we found during the week.
