25 dollar Ikea high chair?

Anyone have this? Like it or no? We're in a really small apartment and I'm thinking this might be the way to go. Thoughts? TIA!

You know, for me with dd4, it was this or the Boon Flair, this won. I couldn't justify the high price tag. I've owned 7 high chairs (two spares at grandparents), brands like Fisher Price, Graco and Evenflo. I like this one much better. That plastic padding on the others is a b!tch to clean, especially if they start self feeding. The Antilop wipes down very quickly and there are so few crevices for food to get stuck. I know it's not uncomfortable, dd4 is old enough to tell me know.

  • Yeah, for the price and simplicity, it's a good option for children that can sit upright.  One of our local eateries uses this as their high chairs.

People have mentioned putting the whole thing in the bathtub if it needs a good cleaning up.

For space-saving purposes, as I am in a small apt too, I'm going with the portable one that just straps on to a regular dining-room chair.

We have and love this chair, but for space saving purposes, we put it away and use the Fisher Price Luv U Zoo booster seat on a regular chair.

  • We have this and it's been great. DS doesn't seem to mind it from a comfort standpoint and it wipes up extremely easily. It's also quite sturdy. I love that it doesn't take up an additional chair. We drive a RAV4 so we just put it in the back fully assembled when we go to friends' houses and it allows us to contain DS without having to use up an extra chair. It's incredibly light - very easily carried with one hand. I never take the tray off, btw...I just slide DS in.

The one thing I would caution is making sure that the seatbelt is snug once they get old enough to climb out. Personal experience. :)

  • We got rid of our $160 Graco for the ANTILOP when DS was 8 months old. I LOVE it. Nothing better than having a high chair with a small footprint and completely wipeable surfaces. This is a GREAT high chair and I recommend it to all my friends.
