I'm planning to call the doc tomorrow but figured I'd ask you ladies now. I just weighed my guys tonight and their weight discrepancy is getting bigger and bigger. My "big" guy is now 20 pounds and his "little" brother is 14. They were always a pound apart in utereo and throughout infancy, then in grew to 3 pounds and everyone said he would "catch up". Last time I weighed them it was 4 pounds, now it's 6!! I don't know if I should be more concerned that little guy is 14 or that big guy is 20 at 7 months (that seems like a lot no?). Both eat and I don't have any concerns, little guy eats about 4 ounces total less a day but has a good appetite, eats his solids etc. It makes me think its just the way they're built., one is smaller framed and the other is more solid, but I'm wondering if there's cause for concern? TIA.

Re: Weight discrepency
This is us too! @ 24 weeks, a growth discordance was picked up. DD is always smaller than DS. @ 30 weeks, he was in the 70th percentile, she was in the 30th, so I was put on bedrest, even though they weren't too worried (she didn't have IUGR, he was just a big boy)!
At my 36 week & 1 day delivery, she weighed 4lbs 15.7oz and he was 6lbs 9oz! He was caught up and on the full term chart by 2 months. She was caught up by month 4. @ their 9 month check up, he was almost 23lbs (80th percentile) and she was 18 5 (35th percentile). So, they're 4.5lbs apart now. Our pedi isn't concerned b/c they both have healthy weight gains and just on their own growth curves. She seems to stay at 25-35th percentile and he is 70-80th percentile.

My fraternal twin girls were only 1oz. difference at birth. Two days later Baby b dropped almost a pound and that is when the difference began. Mine have always been at least 2-3 lbs. different. And like you mentioned, mine just have different body types. One was your typical healthy chunky baby and the other was always a skinny minnie. Right now at 4 1/2 they are about 4 lbs different and the bigger one is an inch taller in height. Since they are so close in height you would think they were be closer in weight. But their body shapes are just different. They are also in different size clothing. It is kind of nice because I can wear the clothes/pjs on the bigger girl and then when she grows out of them her twin wears them. So I get my money out of clothing.
At their 9 month appt. the pedi should be able to tell you how they are progressing. As long as they are both on the chart, I would not be too concerned. My smaller one is barely on the chart, but she is on it. Currently in the 3rd percentile for weight. Her height is in the 50th percentile. They will be 5 in July and I don't expect my smaller twin to be even 35lbs.
