My husband and I, both American expats, are living in St. Kitts. We also plan to return to the U.S. for me to give birth. I think we're planning to head back when I'm about 34 weeks. How far along are you now?
I'm in the DR too! Maybe we even know each other- we are CMS employees in Santo Domingo. I am in week 23 and we are just staying here. Its going to be a long hot summer, but I am happy with my Dr. and Hospital and we've had several friends deliver here.
I am, however, ordering TONS of stuff on the internet, and making a last minute baby shopping trip in March to the US.
I am in dominica (not the republic!) and had most of my stuff shipped in from UK and US (the last barrel came 2 days after she was born). Just make sure you order anything way in advance when you're as blessed as us to live in the caribbean

This is so exciting! Sorry it took me so long to respond. We live in El Llano, Elias Pina border of Haiti and DR. My husband and I work at a children's home for malnourished kids ages 05. We come to the capital a lot though to pick up volunteers and for our days off. How long have you guys been here? We usually go back and forth to the States for holidays, meetings, etc. Always on the go! Eventually we want to get our own place here.
