I have made it this long without one, but my older is older than yours will be. I just bought mine, and I would highly recommend one if you can afford it.
Mine are 19 months apart, so a double was absolutely a necessity for me. DD1 is about to turn 3 and still rides in it at the zoo, sometimes for longer shopping trips, etc. I didn't have a budget big enough for the City Mini or anything like it, so we went with a Graco DuoGlider that was compatible with our car seat. I've been really happy with it, and it's held up well in the 1.5 years we've had it.

Does the Graco DuoGlider fit in your trunk nicely?
Yes, it does. I drive a VW Jetta, which has pretty decent trunk space but not huge, and I can can fit my DuoGlider, PNP, and several suitcases in the trunk with a little room leftover.

I bought a Schwinn double jogger off Craigslist a few months ago after we found out we were expecting baby #2. We used it for DS and his cousin who is a month older and really liked it -- the kiddos kept each other entertained and it was super easy to push.
I'm hoping that it will come in handy with DS and Baby #2 since they'll be 21 months apart. (If not, I figure I can always re-sell on Craigslist and likely recoup my money.)

My girlfriend is giving us her Chicco double stroller. It's free and we have the Chicco carseat so it should be easy to use.
Is it what I would have picked on my own? Probably not, but it's free.
Honestly, I see more of Augie in the single city mini and me wearing this baby but only time will tell!
