I feed Ross a jar of fruit mixed with oatmeal each morning. I'm not sure what else to give him to change it up. I have given him a handful of cheerios or puffs. I gave him pieces of a plain waffle and he wasn't impressed. What other things do you guys feed your babies for breakfast? Thanks!

Re: What's for breakfast?
These are some things that DS eats for breakfast regularly:
Toast, homemade muffins, greek yogurt with fruit puree in it, fresh berries, green smoothies, banana pancakes, french toast, baked blueberry oatmeal
Fruit - sliced, soft, pear, kiwi, mango, or banana. Or grapes.
Eggs - either scrambled with cheese, or over easy/fried, mashed on a piece of toast, and then cut into strips.
Yoghurt
Pancake or waffle with apple sauce spread on top
Toast with apple sauce or unsweetened jam
Oatmeal with apple sauce and raisins
Cheerios (multigrain, unsweetened ones)
Smoothie (if I'm doing that for breakfast for myself)
Her favourite breakfast by FAR is the scrambled eggs with cheese. She goes crazy over them
Whole wheat eggo's with butter
scrambled egg with cheese (yeah DS is 13 mos and I'm still hanging out here...)
Sliced fruit like halved blueberries or strawberries or banana
whole wheat toast with butter & cinnamon
YoBaby Yogurt
Monday through thursday (daycare days) we send her there with oatmeal mixed with fruit. But friday through sunday we do toast with cheese whiz or pancakes with pears on it in place of syrup and she loves them both! I just cut it up in small pieces.
Ditto to all of the above. Here are some additional ideas that I have done:
- blackberries (strained in a food mill to remove the seeds) and ricotta cheese. You can also mix blackberries and blueberries together.
- to get him to like waffles, put fruit puree on top. He gets the added nutrition and yummy taste. Same thing holds true for french toast and pancakes.
- homemade chunky apple sauce with cottage cheese. Vary the flavor by one day using cinnamon, another time using cinnamon and nutmeg and another day using pumpkin spice.
