My DS has started to stand up in his crib at night and not want to go to sleep. We did sleep training about 7 months ago with him. For the most part, he has done really great. Right now, he is fighting a nasty cold so I have been rocking him to sleep at night. I don't have the heart to let him CIO when he doesn't feel well. But once he is feeling better we need to get him back on track. I just feel like we are starting back at square one with the sleep training. I wish at this point that we had a video monitor so I could see when he was standing. Right now, I just have to peek in to see if he is standing or not. Any mommas gone through or are currently going through this? How long did it last? I am just so overwhelmed.
Re: Lie down and go to sleep, please!
Almost the exact thing happened to us a couple weeks ago. DS was fully sleep trained around 4 months and would go down with little to no crying, he had little set backs when he started sitting up in bed, then standing up in bed. After a few days he always figured it out. Then a couple weeks ago he had his 1st cold and did not handle it well AT ALL. We ended up rocking him for naps and at bedtime since he was so miserable and I also just couldn't let him CIO when he could barely breathe through his nose.
Once he got over his cold, he was a monster at nap and bedtime for probably a week. We slowly weaned him I guess you could say off of rocking by just doing shorter and shorter periods of it until we finally got back to just laying him down in his crib like normal.
I know it feels like you are back at square one, but he will rebound quicker than you think. But I totally know where you are and it sucks to be there, for sure. Also, we have a video monitor and it is seriously worth every penny
