Waterproof mattress cover recs

We're getting DS a twin bed this weekend (yay!) & of course I need a very reliable waterproof mattress cover.  Sam's club has a Serta one for ~$20 but the reviews are horrible saying the covers leaked.  I don't want to just go buy any old cheap cover that any messes could possibly leak thru.  Can anyone recommend a good waterproof cover they got for their toddler?  I'm thinking of also putting a waterproof crib pad on top of it just in case... thx!!

  • This is the one we have.  We haven't been able to test it out since my son has only been in his bed for a few weeks.  It has good reviews and seems to be good quality.

  • mine came from Target--whatever brand it is--they only have one kind I think--and it's worked great.  DS1 has definitely leaked over and over.  LOL.

What I recommend as well is to double layer--so put a waterproof cover down--then sheet--then another waterproof cover and then anothe sheet.  If there is an accident then you just pull off the two top layers and the bed is done.  You'll be grateful for this at 2am--and so will LO.

  • I got one at BB&B can't remember the brand but when I brought it home I pulled it out, laid it on the floor & poured about 1 cup of water on it & left it there for awhile. It just pooled &barely soaked into the top layer so i figured that was good &kept it. Unfortunately DS refuses (for over 6 months now) to sleep in a bed and sleeps on the floor every night plus is not PTed overnight so I really don't know how it would work in reality.
