So I just found out I was preggo 4 days ago, did the due date test and I'm 5 weeks along and due oct 16. Problem is, I'm a major smoker and have been for a long time. I feel so horrible when I light one up and you'd think just the thought of my little bean alone would be enough to just quit but I'm finding it incredibly difficult. I've read that some ppl say quit cold turkey but others say the stress just quitting could be even worse that the cigs! Ugh, any ideas?

The stress of quitting is not worse than the cigarettes.
It is incredibly difficult. Talk to your doctor and see if he/she has any advice to offer. Most people know smoking is bad for the baby but read up about it. Maybe reading what your smoking can do to your baby before and after birth will help.
EDIT Wanting to quit does make a difference. When you really want to quit, you will.(no matter how hard)
I was also a pack-a-day smoker for almost 9 years, until the day I got my BFP. I tried to quit cold turkey, but found it very hard. I had also heard the whole myth of "the stress will kill your baby faster". (My OB called BS real quick on that one.) Anywho, 3 days after BFP and only 5 cigarettes later, I looked at myself in the reflection of my car (only smoked outside), and thought, "what am I doing?? I'm having a BABY. I can not be doing this to my baby." And I ripped up the rest of my pack and haven't touched them since.
That being said, not a day goes by that I do not crave a cigarette like mad. They still smell good, and look good, and sometimes I swear I can taste them. I miss it!! It's hard, but so worth it. Seeing/hearing my healthy baby later on is worth every second of not giving into selfish personal addictions. (Plus, could you imagine trying to soothe a baby going threw nicotine withdraws??)
Call your doctor. Even though he may not see you til later in your pregnancy, he can most certainly help you with some quitting techniques.
