I know I've seen questions related to this but I'm going to ask here again. How long did you tandem feed? I tandem feed on a breast friend on the couch and my 4.5 month girls are about 16.5 lbs. Their legs are tucked up and they look uncomfortable, plus they're starting to grab for eachother and get distracted. Any of you have a set up that works well for tandem sessions?
Re: bfing question
My boys are 7 months and we're still tandem nursing, particularly at night and for MOTN wakings. For the final nursing session before bed, I sit in our giant recliner with one baby in a cradle hold and the other baby in a football hold. They're tall enough that whomever is in the football hold has his legs tucked up in a sitting position against the arm of the chair. The only issue we run into there is that Twin A has a head full of hair and Twin B loves to touch it and occasionally pull it, so I try to put B in the football position so he won't mess with A's hair.
For MOTN, we use the pillow. They're both so tired and focused on eating that distractions aren't an issue.
Most daytime feedings are done solo. They each prefer the one-on-one time and Twin A flat out refuses to nurse on the pillow unless he's super famished.
