Hello ladies my husband and I were wanting to start a family this year. I recently got off my bc and this is the first month with out it. leading up to the date that I normally get my period I felt all the normal periodness crampy headaches tierd ect. But my period didn't come ok gave it a little time and still nothing this coming Thursday will be a week I tested to see if I was pregnant by chance but it tested negative like I thought it would. Is this normal? Do I just need to give my body a chance to regulate without the pill or should I talk to my dr?

Yup, just give it time. Your body is most likely still regulating itself.
Keep in mind too that you're estimating when your period "should" come based on when it did on the pill. Some people just naturally have longer cycles. You won''t know what's normal for your body until you've been off the pill for awhile.
This is very similar to my first post here. I stopped the pill at the end of last July, after nearly 4 years of being on it. Everything felt "normal" that first month off the pill but my period didn't show. I ended up having a 61 day cycle. They've been getting progressively shorter since but things are still not quite back to normal yet. This is month #7 and I'm on cycle 5.
If you haven't considered it already, I'd highly recommend charting. It'll give you a lot of insight into what your body is doing and help avoid this kind of stress. Check out fertilityfriend.com (any of the chart links in our siggies will take you there) and the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
Good luck!
This. Spacepotatoes you stole what I was gonna say! haha. Spacepotatoes & I are pretty much in the same boat (I'm "crazychicken" on blogspot fyi) situation-wise. I went off BCP beginning of August 2012, & since then I've had 3 full cycles: (cycle 1: 50 days, cycle 2: 65 days, cycle 3: 80 days (w/ AF brought on by Provera), & am now on CD5 of cycle 4. Timing of when you get your first AF after BC is just really unpredictable, & even after that it can take awhile to regulate.
I'm an avid supporter of charting also, it can really help you to stay sane if you end up having long or irregular cycles!! I didn't start charting til the end of my 2nd cycle but I could've saved myself so much anxiety in that second long cycle if I had been charting so I could know what was going on (if I had O'd, etc). And OP I was on BCP for 10 years, so I can relate with the anxiety of wondering how your body will respond without it. You really just need to give yourself some time, be patient w/ your body (yes it's very hard sometimes!!) & start charting so you can learn about your body & what it's doing now that you're off the BC. GL to you!
