I posted this in the Sept. 12 board but thought I would post here too:
So before my lo was born I did not feel the need to have a video monitor much less an Angelcare monitor now that she is here and more mobile she has started rolling over during the night and burying her face while she sleeps (she currently sleeps in her packnplay next to our bed) I feel like the only way I will get any sleep is to move her to her room and to have a good monitor. The problem is we bought a Sealy Soybean Foam-Core mattress and the Angelcare monitor says it doesn't work with memory foam mattress but the Sealy website says it is not memory foam. So my question is: does anyone have this mattress and use and Angelcare monitor?
And if you just have an Angelcare monitor with a different mattress that it works with, which monitor do you have or would you suggest?
Re: Angelcare monitor
We use Angelcare for both of our children (my toddler and the 4-month old) and we have the Colgate foam mattresses. When we got the second one, I read that it doesn't work with foam mattresses and I thought that was strange since we had been using it with my older son's foam mattress for two years.
I will also sing the praises of the Angelcare and the piece of mind it has given us. As I mentioned above, we still use it with out two year old it have had only a few false alarms. He still hasn't learned how to crawl out of his crib yet, and I figure this monitor will give us the heads up when it happens.
(not sure how to edit) but we haven't had any false alarms. We had the temperature alarm go off once when it got too hot in his room. Also we don't have the same mattress.
