I have a very nice Honeywell humidifier for DS's room that works great and we love it. I just bought a new one for our room from Bed, Bath and Beyond and the new one is made by Holmes. It makes horrible sounds during the night, sometimes so much so that I can't go to sleep with it on. The base also gets really hot and I worry that it will catch my furniture on fire. I am wondering if this is normal operation of this brand or if mine is defunct. Does anyone have this brand and if so do you have any issues with it?
Re: Humidifier-Is it going to burn the house down?
Can't comment on that particular brand, but from a safety standpoint, we've been buying the ultrasonic cool mist ones instead of the hot vaporizers. We have Crane model and it's fairly quiet, kind of like a gentle white noise.
I would check reviews on Amazon for your product to see if anyone else shares similar complaints. BBB has a great return policy so you can always bring it back for an exchange or return.
We have a Crane cool mist. It's an elephant and the most comes out of his trunk. Lol
