Do you have a pair of travel high chairs? My sister uses a Fisher Price one with her singleton and loves it. Will two of those be cumbersome? I've read great reviews on the type that hang from the table (and are lightweight, like the Phil & Teds), does anyone here use those? Are these nice to have?
I'm trying to picture DH and I carrying our DDs into a restaurant and also carrying their high chairs and I want it to be as streamlined as possible.
Re: Travel High Chairs
I love, love, love the FP Healthy Care booster seats. They are great for traveling (and to have around the house). However, we never took them to restaurants, just to friend's houses around town or threw them in the van when going out of town (usually family's house or rental or some type). When we went to restaurants, we just used whatever high chairs they had. I had two high chair/shopping cart covers, but only used them once because it was such a pain to carry the kiddos and them.
I'd be a little careful with the ones that hang on the tables. I think there have been some recalls on them recently, but I didn't pay that much attention since we never had any.

If you have the space to store them then they might be nice to have. But we don't have any and I've never missed them. Most restaurants have highchairs, and only once did we need to wait a few minutes until two were available. Like you said, trying to carry all the gear, babies and two seats seems like a lot of work!
When we traveled to Hawaii we were able to rent high chairs from a rental place for the week.
