Q about wool cover

I bought a gently used wool cover at my local swap today, it is one of those that look like a regular pul cover; gussets, aplix closure, I was planning on hand washing it and lanolizing it like with my other wool covers but reading the tag it says to wash warm with mild soap and dry low. I thought wool can't go in the washer/dryer unless you need it to felt. Should I fallow manufacturer's instructions or go with my regular wool care? TIA!

Edit. Subject. I accidentally wrote fleece, I meant wool.

Re: Q about wool cover

  • I bought what I think are similar covers at a second hand shop.  (They were wool wraps, but didn't really look like sweater wool like my other covers.)

I think for their first wash, I did a cycle in the washing machine simply because they were used and I wanted to get a super thorough cleaning.  Don't put it in the dryer.  After line drying it, I hand-lanolized it.  From here on out, I'll wash it as I do my other wool covers.

The word you're looking for is SEX.  I promise.  No, it's not gender.  It's sex.  You're welcome.

  • Interlock wool is already felted and this won't be effected by a dryer. I am guessing that wrap is interlock.
