I've been mostly a lurker here. My third child, Michael William, was delivered easily on 2/6. I had some back labor but a nice epidural. Three pushes and he was out. We were home 12 hours later and he latched like a champ!
I was feeling wonderful--cleaning, cooking, feeding, snuggling my family--when I woke up on 2/11 with crampy belly pain that I thought might be from my overdoing the Advil. On 2/12 (my birthday), I woke with right sided sharp pain and screamed for my husband to take me to the hospital. My appendix couldn't be seen on imaging behind my uterus, but the surgeon took me to the OR emergently to remove my inflammed appendix. I went home the next day and am just getting back to normal.
I know this is just bad luck, and the only silver lining is that I'm back in real pants again thanks to the surgery and loss of an internal organ--hahaha!
I wish you all the best with your newborns. And I hope you are all as blessed with husbands/partners and families as supportive as mine that saw me through these past ten days.
Re: Appendicitis six days after delivering baby boy!
Oh, my goodness, I cannot imagine! At least it happened after the baby got here, and not during labor!
I'm glad you're feeling better, though
