Thank you ladies for all of your responses to my post yesterday about flying versus driving with 3 little ones... Based on your responses, I agree that flying is the lesser of two evils, hahaha. The only problem, we really can't afford to fly.
So here's the crazy idea we have come up with instead.... we are going to drive overnight! We will plan it so our normal nighttime routine happens, except instead of putting the kids to bed, we will pile them in the car and hit the road. DH and I will drive/sleep in shifts. If we have to stop for the night fine, but if we can push through we could do the drive in 14 hours, with only about 3 of those hours being kids awake.
Has anyone ever tried this before? If I can get the twins STTN by June when we travel, I think it will work. Like I said, I looked up plane tickets, and we really can't afford it, so I'm hopeful this will work, hahaha.

My Mom used to always do this with us (my sister and I are 2 years apart). She said its the only way to travel with kids. (my family wasn't a flying family either)
Plus you never know, the road might help them stay asleep
I will have to check out that book, thanks!
Yeah, if we do the overnight driving, we will end up getting there a day sooner than planned, so plenty of time to take turns napping and coming back around.
I'm just really gonna need the babies sleeping through the night first, I can't imagine pulling over to the side of the road at 3am to tandem nurse, yikes!
