Hi everybody! I am new to thebump and wanted to get some feedback on the maternity ward at St Lukes in the northland! I am only about 13 weeks and still deciding doctor and hospital. Also, had anyone used Dr Abney before?? Please help!!!
I don't have personal experience but O had a friend and a cousin who delivered there. They were both happy with the care the received. The only negative thing that happened to my friend is that they were really busy and she ended up in a semi private room sharing a bathroom with someone else which she said was less than ideal but it happens.

I delivered my first two babies there, and had my D&C there and it was fine. I never had Abney, but my SIL has had nothing but great things to say about her. I am hoping to go back there for this one, but just moved so I may not be able to.
I ended up with a c-section there because of the possibility of a large baby. It was my first and I didn't question my doctor. I had to find a new doctor for my second delivery because I didn't want another c-section and they don't do vbac's. Also, the room I went to after my c-section did not have a shower so I had to use a community shower down the hall. Thank goodness it wasn't busy when I delivered. Good luck!
Thank goodness for that news. Researching reviews can put a real damper on something that is supposed to be glorious! Thank you all for the help, keep it comin!
About the community shower business, ughhhh let's just hope I deliver on an off day! That would totally not be cool. I hope to go tour the hospital soon, how were the nurses staff?
I'm 17 weeks and also going to St. Luke's north but seeing Dr. Driskell. So far, it's been a great experience. I have two friends that have delivered there for both of their babies and said they'd go back there on a heart beat.

I've always recommended them to people.
