how much does your newborn eat?

Our 3.5 week olds are eating 4oz (girl) and 5.5oz (boy) of formula every 3-4 hours. I'm just curious if anyone else's newborns ate this much....

Edit:  I should add they were not born premature.  They were born at 38.5 weeks at 6lbs4oz and 6lb9oz.

    My boy/girl twins just turned 4 weeks. Baby boy eats 4 oz and baby girl eats 3oz. They were born at 37wks3ds. Sometimes they even need a little extra ounce to top off.

    They were huge eaters. One of my boys had 5 oz at one feeding when he was not even 10 days old! (I think 8 or 9.) It was crazy. We did a mix of formula and nursing/EBM the first month and at that age IIRC they would eat anywhere from about 2.5oz to 5.5 oz per feeding. They gained fast. They were born at 37w6d weighing 6lbs10oz and 6lbs7oz. I forget their 1m weights but they were each just over 12 lbs by 2m and 15 lbs by 3m.

    My MIL who is a pediatric nurse told me that they can get up to half their body weight in pounds in ounces of formula as a guide for how much to feed them.  For example, my guys were over 7 pounds so she told me 3 ounces or more sounded right, but I am EP'ing and our pediatrician said up to a month old 1 - 2 ounces-ish of BM and then at 1 month they should be around 2 - 4 ounces-ish which my guys eat about 2 - 2.5 ounces each feeding at 5 weeks... I assume you are talking formula though.

    My ladies are 10 weeks old, and each eat 3oz of fortified breast milk. They have been eating this amount regularly for about 6 weeks, maybe a little longer.

    My b/g twins will be 6 weeks on Tuesday and were born at 37 weeks.  DS eats between 4-5 ounces every 3 hours and and DD eats 2-4 ounces every 2.5 hours (she was only 4lbs at birth and has to eat more frequently than he does).
    DX: Anovulation
    TX: IUI #1-4 = BFN + 1 c/p
    IUI #5: Clomid 100mg + Bravelle + Trigger + B2B IUIs + 800mg Progesterone = BFP!
