Anyone else?

We are all getting close to the end...anyone else scared that their water is going to break in public?  I've even put a beach towel in my car in case it happens while I'm out running errands.

DH is taking me to a nice dinner tonight and I am actually worrying that my water could break.  I am wearing black leggings just in case!

  • At this point, I'll take it! Bring it on public or not!

  • I'm scared that I will go into labor in the middle of the night and can't get anyone on the phone to come bring me to the hospital leaving me to have the baby at home with my 2 year old here. Also another fear is being stuck in rush hour traffic on the way to the hospital. It could take hours to get there. Miss my DH.

    ha!  me too!!

honestly... my water broke with DD1 on the way to the hospital, and continued while waiting in the main ER to go over to L+D... and it really wasn't too noticeable - and it wasn't a "slow leak", either.  I would not worry  much about it!  Bring it on!

  • Only about 1 in 10 women have their water break as the first sign of labor, so I wouldn't worry too much. Most of the time, your doctor or midwife will break your water once you are already at the hospital.

  • I am worried that my water might break in public. Thank you for mentioning keeping a towel in the car. I will do that. I'm mostly afraid that my water will break in public because my best friend had her water break at my wedding, so I think she is hoping something similar happen to me. It made my wedding and her whole labor delivery memories all very memorable.
  • No because as other say only about 10% of womens water breaks on their own.  I wish it would be an obvious sign like water breaking that notifies me to go to the hospital....but I know I will have to time contractions.
