Has anyone else that had one still feeling bad one week later? I'm still sweating, swollen, and have stomach issues. I don't know if my recovery has been harder bc I labored for 20 hrs before an emergency csection bc I developed an infection. I would love to hear from other moms that have been through a csection how you felt 1 week after? Thx!
Re: 1 week out from csection
I was absolutely miserable for 2 weeks, at least with my csection. And I was only in labor for about 30 minutes. I couldn't walk without getting the shakes, I was swollen bigger than I was pregnant, and took Percocet every 4 hours. Nd I have a really good pain tolerance, I am not sure if the 5 weeks of prodromal labor just made it too much for my body. I think it was 3 weeks before I could get out of bed without dh!s help.
I hope you feel better soon.
With DS1, I labored for 30 hrs before a csection. I had feet/body swollen three times it's size for about 3 weeks and couldn't put on my own pants for six weeks! Everyone is different. Call your OB on Monday, but I'd say normal.
Everyone is different, but for me, by a week out I was feeling much better although by far not back to normal with both of my c/s.
If by stomach issues you mean constipation, I think that's fairly common after a c/s, which is why many women on here recommend taking stool softener for a while afterwards. Sweating is totally normal no matter how you deliver - that has to do with your PP hormones. I'm 10 days out and the night sweats are just starting to get better. From about 5-9 days PP, I was waking up at night drenched in sweat. As for the swelling, mine has always gone away after delivery, but my MW asks about it, so I think it's also common for it to stay for a bit. The sweating is your body getting rid of some of that extra water.

It took a full 2 weeks before I really felt improved. Now I feel better each day. The incision is still sore. I am still on ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock but I was able to kick the percocet after about 10 days and it got ALOT easier to move around. Took a lot of Metamucil and GasX. Finally got rid of a lot of the gas and had several BMs (TM sorry!) and my stomach started to feel a lot better.
I still have bed soaking night sweats every night and go between hot and cold all day long.

1 week post-CS I was still terribly swollen, probably at its peak. My feet looked like sausages. I could only wear my slippers it was so bad. I blamed my slipper-clad feet on "pregnancy brain" at DD's first pediatrician appointment. Pain-wise I was still sore, but would only take Motrin from time to time. I still get a bit of break-through incisional pain, but nothing bad. I've also noticed that I can't cough or yell since the CS. It's terrible when I have some water go down the wrong pipe! I've also had some bladder/urinary pain that I think is related to DD pressing hard on my bladder while I was in labor. I also am still a bit constipated and still am taking some stool softeners to help things out.
I labored for 12 hours before getting a CS due to failure to progress.
