1st Trimester

BFP but NO symptoms

I got a BFP but have absolutely no symptoms at all, nothing.

Background:  After ovidrel and an IUI I checked 10dpo and got a BFN. I assumed that was it even though I tested early. The next day I lost a close friend tragically. I have been completely void. But on valentines day I saw an extra test in the bathroom and tested for reason at all. Not thinking about it I came back 30 minutes later and just happen to notice the double lines when I went to toss it, and was shocked. I took two digital tests and also got BFP all of these in evening time.

Obviously my mind is elsewhere but I'm just surprised I have no symptoms, its making it much harder to wrap my head around it. Is this normal?

  • I'm very sorry about your friend :(

It's completely normal not to have any symptoms, especially early on and even later on. I had virtually no symptoms with my first pregnancy. This one has been quite a different story.

    Congratulations! H&H 9 months!

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss. What a blessing to receive your BFP during such a tragedy.

I never had symptoms until around 6-7 weeks. That's when the nausea and even worse - severe constipation - (sorry TMI) began. Eek!

Good luck to you for a super healthy pregnancy!

  • What a bittersweet story. I'm so so sorry to hear about your friend.

    Congratulations on your bfp!

  • You don't have to have overwhelming symptoms to be pregnant. Relax and enjoy it while you can since it's possible you'll get hit with them soon.
