I know it is Saturday and you all are well rested and off doing fun stuff. But I am sick and I lost my voice, so entertain me!
For those of yall getting married and already married.
What type of jewelry did you pick for your wedding day? Traditional? Heirloom? Spunky?
Did you or your SO pick out the engagement ring?
If SO picked it out, does it match your "style"?
PIP! We want to gawk.
Re: Wedding Bling
I got married June 26, 2011.
Here is my engagement and wedding ring (We didn't get a band).
He picked it out. I actually knew nothing of it. He spent months at the store with my best friend ordering in different settings. Then he'd come home and photoshop different sized diamonds in to the setting while he waited to see them in the store. He had a whole folder with all these papers on our bookshelf. In plain sight. I still had no idea. He had told me he wanted to wait a couple of years (after he finished school). He bought the ring in September. He proposed on Christmas day 2010.
The only jewelry I wore was five strands of pearls in varying shades of pink and white. Then my ring after the ceremony. They weren't heirloom, my mom bought them for me for the wedding.
Oh. I almost wore my hair tie around my wrist until the wedding planner said, "Ahemmmm..."
ETA! Yes, my ring definitely matches my style and what I would have picked had I been involved (which I'm so glad I wasn't). DH had always told me his style was just a simple solitaire. Which of course I would have been over the moon with anything, he knew me (in every way) enough to know the perfect ring for me.
Geez, I am taking time out of my AWESOME Saturday to answer this. And here I had a fun filled day of spa-ing, dining, dancing, and shopping. BAHAHAHA.
I've been married for almost 3 years. Been with hubby for 10. Ya. Crazy. I bought my jewelry from the place I got my dress because it "looked nice with it".
My hubby picked out my ring...but i did tell him ahead of time that I liked the 3 stone kind. Its perty and I love it.

FUN POST!!! DH picked engagement ring himself. I showed him some pics I liked and he did AWESOME!!! For my wedding day I kept it super simple. Solitaire diamond necklace and matching earrings. I also wore my moms tennis bracelet.
I got married on May 12th, 2012
Sorry I could choose which picture I liked best! lol. I am going to be an AW right now... So I apologize in advance.
I wore more traditional jewelry, I suppose. Diamond bracelet, earrings and necklace. My mom gave me these beautiful heart-shaped diamond earrings to wear
My DH picked my ring out all by himself! He did so amazing! I had showed him the style I like once and he got me one a billon times better!!!!

Right now I just have the engagement ring. It has 75 diamonds on it. Almost positive I will be getting the wedding band next month. We are having a vegas wedding (because our best friends wernt able to be in our actual wedding) and I caught my husband looking at the wedding band on the computer the other day! hehe.. It has another 50 diamonds on it! They're just little but so beautiful! I am so excited!
It definitley matches my style perfectly!
SO picked out my engagement ring, thankfully he knew I was not a diamond girl!
It is very much my style.
I made my jewelry and all the jewelry for my bridal party. For my necklace and bracelet I took old pieces of costume jewelry from my mom, MIL and my grandmother's collections and re-purposed the beads and spacers into my jewelry.
I don't have a picture of it here on my work computer, but when I get home I'll post a picture of my bouquet.
Y'all "non diamond girls" reminded me (both y'all's rings are gorgeous, BTW). I'm not a flower girl, so I had a brooch bouquet. I love it and it's still displayed in my house!
Wedding day jewelry: there was a necklace at the bridal store that my mom and I fell in love with but we weren't willing to pay 200 for it. The necklace didn't have the typical back closure. Instead it tied and hung down to about the middle of my back. We ended up going through my grandmothers jewelry and found a necklace pendant that was similar to the beading on my dress. With the pendant, we made a necklace similar to the one from the bridal store. So it wasn't necessarily an heirloom but it was special to me since my grandmother had passed away a year before.
I'm mobile bumping but if I get a chance I'll try to PIP.
Am I the only one who helped pick out their ring? DH is a very practical sort of person. He said that if he was going to spend all that money on a ring that I will wear for the rest of my life that he wanted to know for sure that I loved it and that it was exactly what I wanted. I have a diamond solitaire with a diamond band. And, he's right, I love it.
For my wedding I wore a floating pearl necklace with drop diamond pearl earrings.
Eta:that should say bang. Not booing.
DH picked out my ring. It was something I would have never chosen, but I love it! He did such a great job!
My wedding jewelry was very understated. A small diamond necklace and little dangly earrings that was my something "borrowed" from my sister. I also wore a really cool heirloom ring that was my great-great grandmother's. My aunt had it welded back together and a lot of us grandchildren have worn it on our wedding days.
What type of jewelry did you pick for your wedding day? Traditional? Heirloom? Spunky?
I wore a red and white beaded bracelet that has a bride and groom charm on it, I got form my mom the day of my wedding. I wore and old ring of my aunt's that was my something old and borrowed. And tiny rhinestoned hoops.
I had a very casual wedding. I used polka dots as a pattern and wore flip flops instead of regular shoes.
Did you or your SO pick out the engagement ring?
All I wanted was for my diamond to be princess cut. I did however explain what I wanted because he asked. And he came home with my ring. He did a great job. I get compliments all the time, from old and young women.
If SO picked it out, does it match your "style"?
It is so my style. I get asked if it's an heirloom but it's not.
Here it is:
ETA: I need to redo my nails. So sorry about my grungy Valentine's Day nails.
How can I drop the hint for this!!???! Love it. Too bad we'll never get married. Sads...
I told DH that I liked princess cut diamonds, but that's all he got and went and picked out the ring by himself. I LOVE my rings! He picked out his band because it's tungsten and won't scratch.
For my jewlery, I wore a necklace and earrings that I had remade from a pendant left to me by my great uncle's longtime girlfriend. It meant a lot to wear it that day since they passed years ago.

This is my engagement ring. The platinum filigree band was my great aunts wedding ring and DH had a 1 carat diamond put in for me.
Here are our wedding rings. DH had my ring custom made with two sapphires and some small diamonds in the band around the center diamond. DHs ring was also custom but thats because he wears a size 15 ring! I absolutely LOVE both of my rings, DH did amazing! He used to remind me of how well he did but now I also remind him I grew W and he is perfect lol.
As for the jewelry I wore at our wedding besides my rings, I wore a single pearl pendant DH got for me at one of those whack an oyster things in Vegas. I also wore the pearl stud earrings my other great aunt, aunt, and mother wore when they married. DH surprised me with another set of heart/pearl earrings the day of our wedding! I got a keeper!

DH and I went looking at rings, but he had mine custom designed. The wedding band interlocks with the engagement ring. I love it soo much!
