Maybe a stupid question but

If I'm going to the MFM every other week for u/s's and monitoring...what is my OB going to be doing, besides keeping track of my weight? My mom asked me and I genuinely have no idea.

    I asked my OB the same question and now I only see them every 4 weeks. If I have questions or concerns I call or they can get me in for a last minute appt if need be.

    You don't need to see an OB unless your MFM does not do deliveries. We didn't see an OB once. Our MFM provided excellent care for mom and babies, and a partner from his practice (another MFM) was there during the delivery in case extra help was needed.

    Thanks ladies. I have appointments with both next week so I'll ask them each. I'm not attempting a VBAC and my OB knows that but I'm going to bring it up with the MFM as well. Best to have everyone on the same page, right?

    This is definitely true. MFMs are OBs with extra training, so they are certainly qualified to handle the entire pregnancy. I saw an MFM for all of my appointments, but it was an OB who was on call for my delivery.
