Anyone use mini cribs for their twins? I am due in September for twins but there is a great deal on zulily for some nursery furniture. I am thinking because I have to put 2 cribs in the same room that mini might be the way to go
I used one for my older DS. I loved it! I converted it to a twin after he was out of the crib and it was great. I knew I would never use a full size bed for him so a convertible crib seemed wasteful. We have plenty of room in our new house so we are going with full sized cribs in anticipation that they might share one but I think mini cribs are great.
for another point of view - we went with full sized cribs from IKEA where you can take the side off and turn them into a toddler bed. we could fit them both in a very small room, we just have almost no other furniture in there (change table in the hallway)
our thinking was that we can still cram the 2 cribs into one room, and then the toddler beds take up less space than a full size, so we can use this setup until they are 4-5 and would be old enough for a bunk bed
vs getting mini cribs and hten needing new beds at 2 or 3 when a bunk would be too dangerous so we would either have to get toddler beds which would mean having to buy a new mattress, or we would have to find a second room to be able to fit two twin beds in together.

Same here. We have two Sundvik cribs that will turn into their first beds. I looked into mini cribs and found that for the price, the Ikea cribs were a good deal and not that much larger if at all.
