Adoption

Intro - Pursuing Adoption

Hello,

DH and I are in the very early stages of pursuing domestic infant adoption and I wanted to introduce myself. We have two children and we would like to complete our family in the next couple of years if possible. I am going over the FAQs at the top of the board now and looking for any books or site recommendations you may have to assist in this process. Hope to get to know you better and tia for any advice :)

  • Welcome! We are also in the early stages of planning and preparing (IA) and we have two children as well. =) Someone recommended adoptionjourney.com to me and I've enjoyed reading others stories from different points in the process.

  • Welcome!
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • Welcome! I think you'll find the FAQs helpful. There were also some book recs in an older post, I'll see if I can find the post for you.

It's a great group here, you'll get a lot of good info and support :)

  • Welcome! I think finding a list of local agencies in your area, then getting the information packets from them and attending their orientation/open houses is very helpful. You learn something at each meeting and helps you know which one 'feels' best, plus you can better compare which each offers as you make your choice with what agency to go with.

  • Welcome!  I wish you good luck with your adoption journey.
