Hi!

I saw your question in the update post. Yes, I have a 2.5 month old and are trying again. Our baby was born through a surrogate and DH and I are still very much wanting to go through a pregnancy together. We absolutely adore our newest DD, don't get me wrong, just still have not given up on me carrying another so we are trying again(still). We are more then okay if they end up very close in age =)

  • Thanks for explaining, now it makes sense!  I kept reading about how you were awaiting your latest's arrival, and yet were TTC at the same time, and I was so confused, LOL.

I was always wondering how that could be, and never once came up with that answer!  I guess I joined the board some point after the part about the surrogate was already common knowledge.

Thanks for humoring my curiosity, and I wish you all the best in TTC #3!

  • Feeling pretty good these days, thanks.  Around 10 weeks (I am 13 weeks today), m/s pretty much hit the road, and now I'm mostly dealing with some fatigue when I do too much (i.e., Mardi Gras last week and early this week), or don't get a good night's sleep.

Had a good NT scan, and just got blood drawn for my MaterniT21 test yesterday.  As soon as I get those (hopefully positive) results back, we'll be announcing to everyone (very much looking forward to this), and I'll feel comfortable putting up a ticker for this LO.

  • Ahh that is so exciting! Glad your scan went well. Are you planning on finding out gender at the big U/S?

  • Actually, that's part of the reason I did the MaterniT21 test this time, instead of the usual labs that go with the NT Scan for the sequential screening.  Not only does it give you a yes/no answer (99% accurate) for the three major trisomies, but it also tells you the gender right then, no extra waiting.

You can do the test as early as 10 weeks, but I waited until this week, because they just added some additional testing last Friday, according to my MFM.  I should have my results back sometime during my 14th week.  Can't wait to get the results, because I am stupidly trying to hide the pregnancy until then, and I'm just getting bigger and bigger every day (2nd pregnancy and just flat out eating too much!).

  • Ahh so cool. Was it just a blood test? I am excited to know gender!

  • Yep, just a blood test: they took two vials of blood and I was done.  I'll report back when I get the results!
