Hey I just discovered this board! I am 12 weeks along and all is well at the moment. I am a high risk pregnancy because of a kidney transplant I had 6 years ago. Health wise I am doing wonderful, it just makes pregnancy a bit more tricky and slightly complicated. Anyone else out there going through pregnancy with a transplant? Would love to hear how it is going!

Re: Transplant Anyone?
I am not a transplant patient but I work with a friend who had a kidney transplant and had a healthy baby boy! She said it was rough on her and her body plust a long bedrest and plenty of doctors appoitnments but she is very happy nonetheless. I know she had to do some switching of meds before tyring because some of the transplant meds cannot be taken during pregnancy.
I also am a pediatric transplant nurse :-) So, i'm very passionate about transplant and organ transplantation. For anyone reading this - save a life and tell your loved ones that you don't need your organs when you are gone! Give blood as well (if you can) as that saves lives as well! Good luck OP!
Me! I had a kidney transplant about 9 years go.
My creatinine was/is higher than they would like, but it's holding steady.
I have OB appointments every two weeks, plus lots of monitoring, but everything is good so far!!
Amen!!!
Yep, sounds like we're all pretty much on the same plan. I have my A/S Thursday, so hopefully everything will be all good there, too.
Baby has started kicking all the time every day this week, so I'm not worried.
I had a liver transplant almost three yrs ago due to bile duct disease. I'm just 14 weeks and high risk as well. My transplant center Georgetown says that I'm one of two this year and they had three pregnant transplant patients last year. I had a miscarriage last fall but so far so good . I had two bleeding episodes during the last four weeks due to low laying placenta dx last week and fibroids. I'm being followed by ob, maternal fetal medicine, gi due to crohns , transplant and endocrinology due to low tsh and possible graves dx . I feel like I'm at the hospital for monitoring one to two times a week. The baby heartrate remains strong in the 160-170 despite it all. Taking it one day at a time. Taking prograf which has recently been increased. Told I'm at risk for preeclampsia and take baby aspirin hoping to avoid this. So far bp has been avg 90-100 over 60-70.Wishing the best for you and baby.
I never expected to see this post! Hi! I'm Brittany, 2x kidney transplant recipient. Currently healthy with kidney #2, two and a half years post tx. My numbers were amazing pre-surprise!-pregnancy. Im only 6 weeks 5days but my numbers are doing well. I currently get tx labs once a week, have seen a specialist OB that actually works predominately with post solid organ transplant patients, and my nephrologist and renal nurse are keeping close eyes on me as well. Im really excited but terrified! I see the OB on March 5th for my viability u/s and genetic counselor, etc. They do have me watching my blood sugar super closely but that's fairly easy.
I am ecstatic to find you lovely ladies! You probably have some idea of the crazy place my brain is in right now!
Random questions, what meds are you'all on currently?

Prednisone, Imuran, prenatal, paxil, tacrolimus, metformin, vit d3. And then some insulin. I think thats it anyway, sometimes with out my med box in front of me the smaller changes disapear from my memory. lol. I have my 1st big day tomorrow!
U/s, genetic counseling, diabetic ob, ult-comm (some weird blood pressure/heart tests even though my heart is great) and then specialist ob. Plus labs and whatever else they throw at me!
