Constipation Q

Dumb question, but is pooping every other day considered constipation? LO has always had one or two dirty diapers each day. We recently switched to a new formula (doctor's request) and she has stopped pooping every day. It's now every other day, but it's a good amount.

Should I be concerned about the change? She doesn't seem to be in any pain and she's eating well. 

I tried calling the on-call doctor's office, but the nurse said she can't answer formula questions and to call back tomorrow.

    Constipation isn't how often they go but what its like when they go. As long as it is soft then you are fine. If it is hard then it is constipation.

    PP is right.  Keep on the lookout for hard, pebble-like poops or clay-like hard poop.  If it's normal then going every other day is fine.  My daugther has alway been an every 2 day pooper. :)
