Vitamin Drops

Hey guys, sorry if anyone has posted before about this, but I was wondering...

DH took Asa to the doc this week for his 2 month checkup/shots and when he was talking to me about how the appointment went he said he had to pick up vitamin drops for Asa because the Dr said he isn't getting enough vitamin D. She said it doesnt come through breastmilk (EP) so he needs to take them, but he perfectly healthy. Anyone else also giving LO vitamin drops? I just don't remember seeing anyone talking about it so I don't know how common it is. I also thought maybe it's because it's winter here and we don't go outside and soak up some sun right now. Thanks in advance!!

    I EP, but my pedi has never mentioned vitamin D drops.  So I don't give them.  I did some reading on Dr. Google about it awhile ago, and it seems that there is no consensus on whether vitamin D drops are necessary or not.  I forgot to ask LO's pedi at his 2 month appointment.  I would go with what your pedi recommends!

    I was told to give them, but honestly I'm not too diligent about it and I often forget. M is perfectly healthy though. I try to get outside with him often when it's not too cold though. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

    I was told at K's 2 week appointment to start the drops. She probably gets them 3 to 4 times a week. Lol

    My pedi has never mentioned it, but since the Internet told me about them I've been trying to remember to give her some. I usually remember 2 or 3 days a week.

    Yep we've been using them since he was a week old per the pedi's request. Totally normal for winter and BF babies, from what I've read and heard. My LO loves them for some reason. We use the Enfamil ones

    Yep, we were told at our very first visit with our pedi that breastfed babies should be on Vitamin d. They aren't a big deal to give, but like others, I forget at times.

    We give the Vitamin D drops as well. Thankfully E loves them!
