Re: Active duty mommas

  • Have you tried the hair tie around the button trick? I used that until about 8 weeks and I gave in and got the dang maternity pants.

  • I'm Army, so I'm no help there. : Is there a surplus store around you could maybe get a pair of bigger pants for cheaper?

  • I'm Army so I don't have the same problem but if I were you I'd just buy a bigger pair.  Once you have the baby you'll have some in between time in which a looser pair of pants will come in handy anyway until you lost the weight.
  • Army here too and we just trade normal ACU's in for maternity ACU's. You might try a surplus store. I think someone mentioned it already but you can probably find them cheaper there.

  • I'm Navy.  Can't you just wear the untucked khaki shirt instead of the tucked in one?.  It is authorized and you donj't have to wear a belt with it, so you can unbutton your pants.  What about NWU's?

I didn't start showing until maybe 22 weeks and could just wear NWU's until then.

  • I'm Army and for now I am just wearing my husbands trousers. I know once the baby bump actually shows, and this bloat goes away, I will have to give in and get the ugly maternity uniform.

  • I am active duty Marine and I know on base they have a thrift store where you can get 5 free used uniforms a month. I have seen a lot of Navy uniforms there. See if you have anything like that on your base. It might help.
