I wanna hear it! Did your SO do something sweet today? Did you do anything sweet for your SO? Do you need to vent about your SO not doing anything/doing the wrong thing? And......go!
DH might get me something later today. It's nice to be acknowledged, but it's silly to spend much money.
My vent: DH normally gets Micah ready for daycare every morning, because I leave for work so early. I knew he wouldn't remember about Micah's whole "My First Valentine's Day" outfit that we had, so I set it out last night. It even included red shoes (that I'm well aware probably fell off in 4 minutes). DH didn't take a picture! I asked him to, and he was already in the car when I reminded him. He didn't take the 4 seconds at daycare to set him on the floor and take the picture! After laundry this weekend, I'm definitely re-creating the Valentine's day outfit so we have a picture for his 1 year video.
My DH leaves for work at 3am, so I got him a card and box of turtles, and I also got a card and box of turtles to him from DD! He got me a dozen red roses (he bought them at grocery store and used a vase I already had) and got me a card, which honestly I did not have the time to even read it! It was super sweet!!!!
My silly vent....Okay I don't really see the big huge deal in Valentines Day, I mean of course I am going to give the card and candy, but my DD has been SPOILT rotten. My mom got her a little monkey back the first of the month, that is cool! I took her to the Dollar Tree on Saturday and let her pick out one of the $1 stuffed bears (which by the way she loves), and then yesterday my inlaws deliver 3 mylar balloons and a big teddy bear to her, WHY??? She is not even 1yr old, why spend atleast $50 to do that?? Then of course my DH feels like a loser (because we only got her the $1 stuffed animal) and he goes and buys her a teddy bear that says "I love you". I guess I just feel like the inlaws where trying to trump us in the gift giving department and we just can't afford to spend that kind of money with her birthday coming up next month.

We didn't get Micah anything. And neither did anyone else! Don't feel bad about your stuffed animal! And I agree the holiday isn't a big deal. I didn't even buy a card. I hate buying cards. They're too expensive for something that is read for 14 seconds and then tossed. I feel the need to hoard cards because people spend good $ on them. I still have some from years past that mean NOTHING to me. I just feel like it gives them more justice.
Honestly, I don't even care about Valentines day. Right now, all I want is a freaking shower.
I have not been able to figure out a way to have a shower while I'm home alone with LO (I tried a couple times while she was napping but our shower is right under her room basically so the noise of the exhaust fan and shower door wake her up ) and DH acts like it is this big hassle if I ask him to watch her.
Stupid thing is if he would watch her every other day then my shower time would be cut down considerably because it wouldn't take me an hour to shave my foresty legs and wash life out of my hair.
So I guess for Valentines Day I want DH to watch LO for me while I have a nice long hot shower. Alone. In the quiet. Ugh.
Feels like any other day. DH said he got me something little...who knows. I just got a card for him from me and one from DD. i also got him a couple of Reese's peanut butter cups. Now I feel bad that I didn't get DD anything. She won't remember.
Edit: I never vented about anything valentines day. The only vent I have right now and is probably the only thing on my mind today instead of valentines day is that DD is in the middle of a nursing strike which is very frustrating and exhausting. Ive been struggling for a good amount of time. I hope it ends soon.
DH had set out some Reese's, lilies and a card for me this morning. He got C a balloon, and we had picked her up some cookies and a little sock monkey doll. He is also making dinner tonight! I made him a card with my handprints in the shape of a heart and C's footprints. It said we love you from the bottom of our hearts to the tips of our toes thank you Pinterest!

DH got DD and I matching necklaces. They have two hearts, one inside the other. He told her the big one was the Mommy heart and the Mommy heart was hugging the baby heart. She's still a little too young for it but I'll let her wear it whenever I can.
Valentines was perfect! Hubby does mornings with our LO, he dressed her up in her valentines outfit and texted a pic of her with a sweet message, made my morning! He also had flowers and chocolates delivered at work for me. Then took me to a nice quiet lunch. I took the afternoon off and went to my LO's daycare for her valentine party. Then when hubby got home he had a pink teddy bear with a little balloon and the sweetest card for our LO first valentines, honestly that alone made me fall in love with him all over again! and he had me a teddy bear and a beautiful card!
when she went to bed he cooked us dinner and we shared a bottle of wine. It was a perfect valentines!
