How do you clean LOs ears? I'm noticing some ear wax build up, and I don't know how to get it out. QTips are a no, no right?

    I try to do a wash cloth and my finger.  I have at times used a Q-tip but NOT in the opening of the ear.  Just the top part where the ear creases.  I don't clean her ears every week.

    Sometimes I use a qtip to clean up around the hole, but never stick it in the hole

    We use the safety q-tips that are fatter and can't fit in the ear canal.

    I usually just use a washcloth in the bath. I also use the safety swabs.

    I use safety swabs ... Nothing worse than seeing visible ear wax in my kids ears.  It's a pet peeve of mine. :-/

    This, but I honestly can't remember the last time I cleaned her ears.  When she was tiny, she used to have earwax all the time, and I was cleaning them every couple of days, but now she just doesn't anymore.

    I use the warm wash cloth in the tub too, but this is in pretty deep...My mom said I had such build up as a young child that the Dr thought I had poor hearing. how gross!

    I just rinse his ears when he's in the bath to loosen it and then run my soapy finger around when I'm shampooing his hair.

    Every couple of nights after her bath, I use the safety swabs. Other than that, I just use the washcloth and clean them every night in the bath.

    I don't want to introduce any extra water to J's ears since he has a tendency to get ear infections. I just use my pinky nail and get want I can see. Disgusting, but effective.
