My experience BFing my second baby was completely different than my first. I BF L for a month and pumped but not enough, so I supplemented with formula when I went back to work and then completely switched to formula shortly after. I was crushed. I remember sobbing to the pedi, knowing it was ok, but needing to hear it from a professional that formula was ok,
the second time around, I knew much more than I did before, and I thought I was informed the first time. I was more determined, I was experienced, and my baby was a different person. And here we are, 16 months later, still nursing.
the number one lesson I learned, was that my children are completely different, from the start. I was a success and something I couldn't do with L, and a failure at getting the same results in other areas.
so, my unsolicited advice for the evening, maybe it works, and maybe it doesn't. Just know that it will be different than before.
Re: BFing #2
Yes!
BFing A is sooooo different. I think it's because of how the hospital handled it. With O they took her for hours before I was able to feed her. H had to call and tell the nurse to bring her to us.
With A they gave him to me to feed right after they got him breathing, BF has been way easier this time.
I haven't supplemented with A, and I had to with O. So hopefully I can EBF A for atleast a year.

Looking forward to a better experience with # 2 also. D wouldn't latch so we pumped and then when she did latch at 8 weeks I was already back to work. My supply was never great and we had to supplement. I through in the towel at 4mths but she got breast milk from freezer stash till she was 6mths old. Hoping to make a year with baby #2.
I probably needed to hear this.
I had a great experience nursing Augie. I can't wait to nurse #2. When pregnant with Augie my plan was - I want to bf but if it doesn't work, oh well. I wasn't passionate about it. But then it was wonderful and I loved it and became quite passionate about it. I'm not doing a very good job mentally preparing myself for the chance it doesn't work with #2.
