My no good very bad day

Starts when I get up this morning and DH gets home and we are planning out the day with the kids.  DS has Karate after school and DH will take him to that, I will pick up DD and come home and get dinner started, I told him after that I have Valentines gifts for him and the kids.  To which he responds "hehe yeah, I was going to get you something but everything is closed when I am awake"  which is the exact same excuse he used for mothers day and my birthday.  I'm sorry, do these days just sneak up on you!?  Because they are clearly marked on the dry erase calender that YOU write every month!  Then he either tried to tell me that the baby was my gift, of that he was going to get me something when I had the baby.  NOW I call bs on both of those things, the baby is a gift to us, on the baby's birthday, I don't expect a "push present" because my gift for labor is the baby.  Also if he can't get his $hit together to get me a card or flowers or a piece of chocolate on a day that is pre-marked and advertised everywhere how the hell is he going to manage on a day that has yet to be determined?  Also he did the same GD thing on my birthday this year, that was a big deal because it was my 12/12/12 day and I canceled a trip to NYC because of our troubles with fixing the house after sandy.  I continue on with my day and run everyone's errands pick DS up from school take him to the dr. get him lunch and get him back to school and then I planned on taking myself to a movie with my gift card from his mom for said birthday.  Oh wait, all the showings are too late in the day so I wont have time to get home and get DD from school and make dinner.  Dinner which I will also mention is a taco bar, I hate tacos, but they are DH's favorite.

  • haha omg!  He just left to take DS to karate and threw all chances of redemption out the window when he said "do I need to get you anything while I am out" I looked in the fridge and the cupboards and said "no I have everything I need for dinner" and he said "that's not what I meant".  REALLY!?  did he just try to get me to ASK him to stop and get me a card?  "oh yeah hunny, could you stop and the jewelry store next to Little Gym and get me some diamond earings?"  omg lol.  I almost feel bad for him!
  • Same boat.  My birthday was 1/29 and it passed with DH only saying Happy Birthday at 12:00am when he called me on his lunch break.  No card, no dinner, nothing.  Same thing for V-day.  To top things off, he's got a cold, so my Valentine's day has been spent catering to the Man-Cold.  I'm afraid he's going to give it to me just in time to go into labor when I can't breathe.

I'm so annoyed.  I know it's not his fault he's sick, but... good God, man, don't give it to me! I want to put him in a bubble and quarantine him until after the birth.

  • Ughh that sucks :(

You should probably have a sit-down with him on a non-holiday to let him know. He seriously sounds clueless. Some men just don't "get" it.
