So my daughter has just turned 2. About a month and a half ago we were getting ready for bath time and I caught her peeing on the rug so i put her on her potty to finish. We praised her for being such a big girl. But since then she wants nothing to do with her potty. Occasionally she will sit on it with her clothes on, but that's it. She has been able to vocalize for a while now when she has to poop, but when i ask if she wants to go on her potty she refuses.
Does this just mean she isnt ready? I obviously don't want to force her into potty training. But she was showing signs of being ready, and now, not so much. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!
Re: Potty training
Yeah, we had a hard time with DD since I wanted to ideally have her trained by 2 years old but she wanted nothing to do with the potty at home even though she was using the potty at the sitter during the day. Anyways, we kept trying and then this past Christmas she started going willingly and being interested in the potty so I started training with pull ups. It was going well but I think since I was using pull ups it was almost the same as diapers so in January I went to underwear and it took about 2 weeks to pee train and another 2 weeks to poop train. So now at 2 1/2 she is finally potty trained and I am happy.
She will let you know when she is ready
He's ahead of the game in many other areas... so we weren't overly concerned as long as he's 100% potty trained before kindergarten! So happy though now that he uses his potty 9 times out of 10.
