So the muppet has a tongue tie. Ugh! It isn't super severe - we have been bfing well for 6 weeks but I got a yeast infection on my left boob which resulted in a visit to my LC where she called it. I just thought my LO liked to nurse for 6-7 hours a day. Turns out it just takes him that long to get enough milk. Hopefully this will lessen the time we spend nursing ![]()
Our procedure is scheduled for 8:45 on Monday - wish me luck ladies.
AmyDylan and Robeano, I read your posts and am glad to know it went so well for you both!

I swear I take one step forward and 2 steps back. I hope your clears up soon. What are you taking for it? I first thought I would go homeopathic but I decided to throw the book at it - I am in so much pain.

Oh my goodness! I hope everything goes great for you guys and nursing gets easier and more effective!
They actually told me in the hospital that my little guy also has a short frenulum as well! My pediatrician said if he is having trouble latching they can clip it too but I am so scared! He is able to latch but we also do spend quite a lot of time nursing....I am also curious if anyone ever told you that it causes him to swallow more air and get more gas?
It sucks that it seems like so many of us are dealing with this but it is good to know we aren't alone!
I am on topical nystatin three x daily, she is on oral suspension nystatin 4 x daily. I boiled all of her pacis, nipples, and toys. All towels get used once only for both her and I. I did one round of bleach in all diapers and clothes, and am now using tea tree oil in all laundry. It's been one month today, need to check her mouth again tonight. I have been feeling much better since about the third day of nystatin. But her spots just won't go away!
GL. I hope you have better luck than I have.

Oh goodness, 4legs. So glad you got to the bottom of your feeding troubles. Your poor boobs with 6-7 hours a day of feeding! Yikes! I really hope it helps you guys.
Good luck with the procedure. It is very fast, but make sure you and muppet do the post-procedure exercises to prevent reattachment.
Btw - I love your LOs pic in your siggy, I keep meaning to tell you!

Sometimes his latch is funny and I can actually hear him gulping in air! I think I might call my LC or pediatrician tomorrow and see what they say. The constant feeding is hard enough...I couldn't imagine dealing with the yeast infection too...eek! I hope both issues get better for you guys real soon!
Thanks AmyDylan!
Pnut - Let me know what they say. He makes this popping/clicking noise when he eats which is him losing suction. I thought it was just a normal sound. We have major burps and gas around here. Both the ENT and LC say clipping will help. Also, as much as I love him 6-7 hours of nursing can wear on a momma!
