We just do cards and try to sneak a lunch/dinner date on the weekend. We got DD a cleaning set - she loves to clean, bubbles, and her very first ring pop. I thought it was cute for vday, jewelry that is candy.
I thought DH and I had agreed on not doing anything special but I guess he didn't get the memo because he slipped a present and a card in my purse this morning.
I went to the bakery over lunch and got us all mini heart shaped cakes for dessert tonight. You know, because loading up my kids with sugar on a week night is a brilliant idea.
BIL and SIL are bringing their family down from OR this weekend. I am thinking we should dump all 5 boys on the grandparents and head out for a double date (boys range in age from 9 years to 18 months). They'll be absolutely exhausted by the time we get home, but I haven't been out with BIL and SIL since Val Day 2009. It'd be a blast.
In any event, we'll hang out with them all weekend until they leave. It should be a good time.
Jay has a presentation in his class tonight, as soon as he gets off we'll do something after we put the boys to bed. He also took tomorrow off (the boys have pedi appointments in the morning), so we can do something fun in the afternoon.
Yeah, I'm getting a windshield crack repaired this afternoon! WOOT!!!!
Hahaha, while this is true, I'm more excited to be having my sweetie over for dinner!
He told me to just go home & relax since he'll be working late (he does design work at a civil engineering firm and they picked up a huge project where they're all working 14-16 hr days) but instead I'm going to cook elk tenderloin with pancetta-hominy-polenta. :-)
He brought me a plant to my office today. He says he only does cut flowers when he can pick/prep/arrange them himself. Dang, I think I found me a winner!
