Anyone watch RHOBH? Want to discuss?

I have been watching this show for some time, but this season is irritating me a little. On my BMB they were talking about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Adrienne Malouf's "secret." There are reports by tabloids that the "wrongly revealed secret" is that Adrienne used a surrogate to have her twins. Maybe I have been around the world of IF too long, but this just doesn't seem like something that would create so much controversy that it would result in threats of a lawsuit and the television show having to bleep out the comments so as to not reveal the matter. I know any sort of IF is a private matter and can totally understand that Adrienne would not want it to be the topic of idle gossip...and I can see where Adrienne would be pissed that Brandi was talking about her private matters.

Still so many public figures are so open about these issues (Camille Grammar, Bill and Guiliana, several other RH who have undergone IVF, etc.) that I have to wonder if there is more to the story. It made me wonder if perhaps the issue is that she had to use donor eggs (she is almost 52, her twins are 6) and has not yet revealed that fact to her children because they are so young that they would not really understand the concept yet. Any thoughts?

I just wish that these issues could be openly discussed on tv and not treated like they are something to be ashamed of or a dirty secret! Sometimes it seems like society has come so far, but then sometimes it seems like we haven't. Sigh.

As an aside, I know this doesn't make any sense unless you watch the show...

THAT'S what the 'secret' could be?! I don't think that warrants a lawsuit either and WOAH was Paul pissed off at Maricio's (sp?) party (that's the last episode I saw so its been awhile). By the way he reacted to what Kim told them Brandi said I thought it was going to be something really juicy.

I haven't seen the show in a few weeks *gasp* and have totally been wondering what was going on.

I know Camille was super open about the fact that she didn't carry her two kids on the show.

Good thinking on the donor egg thing ... 46 would be pretty old to be giving birth to twins. You might be onto something!

I'm fairly certain she used donor eggs, given that it is rumored the reason she is so angry about the reveal is her children's psychiatrist told her not to explain the "circumstances of their birth" until age 10.

I think it's a shame she didn't turn it into a positive to be an advocate for DE/3rd party gestation, but Adrienne doesn't strike me as the type of woman looking to make any difference other than another dollar in her pocket.

I also feel like she shouldn't have lied about it. If you remember on the Ojai trip, she told a story about when she had a C-section with her twins, while all the other women were sharing their childbirth stories. I feel like she unfortunately made herself a target for being exposed as a liar by not being upfront. She could have just stayed quiet during that, and I don't think it would have been as likely that Brandy would have exposed that secret. Just my 2 cents.

For some strange reason I actually find myself liking Brandi.

I read the same thing about her using a surrogate but then also read that she actually pretended to be pregnant so that no-one would know. I too was wondering about her using donor eggs given her age. Nothing drives me more crazy than older women talking about having kids at advanced ages, say 45 and up, but failing to mention that they used donor eggs. I don't have an issue with using donor eggs but I do have an issue with making younger women believe they got pregnant naturally and imply that it's fine to put off having babies until age 47. Kelly Preston I consider an example of this.

After the nose job episode I swore I would stop watching because although it's bad enough that Kim decided to get a nose job but it's even worse that her assistant took her to the appointment. In what world does she need an assistant?????

I think the DE is probably what the secret is really about. What I don't understand is a couple things...why is it that important to her for people to preceive she carried the twins that she would fake a pregnancy and make up stories, and also why are her 6yo twins seeing a psychiatrist? I will never understand these people's lifestyle. I respect her right to privacy if she doesn't want to talk about this but I agree that lying about it kinda made her a target.

I watch! The minute I saw that episode I predicted the "secret" was DE, given her age. I guess I can see where Adrienne is coming from. Maybe she wants to handle that information with her children as a family. I actually like Brandi too, but if that's the info she came out with as a means to gossip, then shame on her.

I completely agree! I love her honesty and her no bs attitude. Sure, she's not perfect, but who is? Adrienne drives me nuts this season. I cannot hardly stand to look at her. Come out with the truth. If you're unwilling to say what this "lie" is, then it's probably not a lie.

Just as everyone has said, she should be open about whatever means were necessary for her to have her children. DE, surrogate, gestational carrier, whatever.

I think it's really shitty to out someone on this kind of stuff, particularly if she is really waiting to tell her kids. It sounds like she has a legitimate reason for keeping it to herself for now, and frankly, I don't think being on tv she is obligated to be a poster child for IF, although it would be nice.

I disagree with her going to such lengths as faking carrying the child or talking about having a c-section, etc. though. I think choosing not to discuss it is perfectly acceptable, so long as she's not perpetuating the myth that's it's easy to get pregnant at any age. I just really disagree with Brandi trying to "out" her.
