Re: <3 Thursday Ticker Change <3

  • Good morning ladies!

Week/Fruit: Canteloup according to my ticker; Dorian according to the main page of Thebump (What is a dorian!?)

Cheers/Jeers: Cheers - I woke up headache-free for the first time since Sunday.  HOLLA.  The world feels like an entirely different place.  Jeers - I don't really have any, I'm in such a good mood!

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress?  I'm due 4/4 and I had one a while back, due to some complications - I was high and closed.  Not due for another one for two weeks.

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP!  I had a shower this past weekend - my SIL threw it for me, family only, it was SO MUCH FUN.  And this coming weekend I have my "friend" shower with about 15 girlfirends.  CANNOT WAIT.  See below for my SIL's cute centerpiece / table arrangement.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you?  Ummmm, not really.  I like cards.  I just like to hang out together, but I don't need anything special.  We're never done gifts or anything, but usually DH buys me flowers and a card, which is sweet. :--)

  • Week/Fruit 32 weeks, squash. 8 month milestone ? Cheers- My husband is coming home today for a 4 day weekend, which is exciting ? We are having a baby shower on Sunday. I had a prenatal massage on Tuesday, which was heavenly. Jeers- BH contradictions, pregnancy insomnia, and back pain. For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress? I?m due April 11th, so no internals yet. My dr. said we?ll start that at 36 weeks. Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how? If not, does that ever bother you? We exchange cards sometimes he gets me something little, but we don?t go all out. It?s so commercialized, so I enjoy the words inside the card the most. Until next week ladies.

Cheers: MIL is coming around and is honestly excited about this baby. If for no other reason,  she gets to shop. She was irritated by my  laissez faire attitude about prepping for baby girl. She has since forced me to go shopping 3 times. I figured a pack n play was sufficient given our space issues. Nope, she took me to approve of the mini crib she planned to buy for the baby. I didn't think we needed a stroller because I have a friend passing on a moby wrap. Nope, hot pink and tall enough for my husband to push without hunching. She has also indicated that she understands that we don't want/need all the gear, but she also wants us to have at least a swing and  some clothes that aren't hand-me-downs. She didn't take my argument that it is wasteful.

I'm uncomfortable with people buying me things. However, I understand after being married to her son for 13 years, that buying things is how she shows affection. This is not a family who hugs. They buy you stuff. I'm just stoked that the tide has turned from "overpopulators" and "deliberately irresponsible" for breaching the 2 child ideal now a second time. I was afraid for no reason. While they are crazy in their beliefs (which my dad also shares) they are grandparents and can't overcome that natural instinct to welcome this baby.

It's been a very emotional week for me. I just want everyone to love phoebe like H and I do.

Jeers: Feeling big and sore and tired, but I don't care! We're getting close to the finish line.

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress?

My mw won't start checking me for another month or so. The earliest she does it without issues is 37 wks.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you?

Valentine's day is no big deal. The kids do some cards for school and I might make the bread in a heart shape that day, but nothing special with H.  It doesn't bother me. H is following my lead. I'm not a chocolates, flowers and jewelry kind of girl.

Whoa! I wrote a book. Sorry.

If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.-Douglas Adams
  • Week/Fruit: 33 weeks / Durian fruit.  I've never actually seen a durian, but it's an ugly spiny thing that smells disgusting.  The Bump certainly picked a strange one for week 33!

Cheers/Jeers: Cheers -  We're finished with all of the classes we signed up for!  I should now be a pro at caring for babies, breastfeeding, and giving birth... ha!  Jeers - I'm tired of my back hurting and feeling exhausted all the time...  I miss the days when stupid things like getting dressed in the morning weren't such a big ordeal!

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress?  I'm due on 4/4 -- I didn't know they did routine internals this early.  I've only had one because of some spotting a few weeks ago, and no "progress" yet (which is good at this point, right?)

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP!  Not yet, but I suspect it is this Sunday.  My husband had been telling me for 2 weeks now that his parents want to "take me out to lunch for my birthday" (I already know that MIL is organizing the shower).  DH is never this good with remembering dates & plans, so I'm suspicious :)

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you? We do celebrate Valentine's Day, but never really go overboard.  This year we'll be extra low-key.  I didn't really want to eat out at a crowded restaurant, so we're going to order pizza or chinese food and just relax at home.  We're exchanging very small gifts (all I really want is chocolate, anyway!)  My husband is always working so hard on fixing up the house, that it will really be a treat for both of us to be lazy tonight :)

  • Week/Fruit: 33/some weird one

Cheers/Jeers: Tired and not motivated to workout anymore. Kind of over being pregnant. Otherwise, had my 33 week appointment this morning and everything is great. My OB was pleased that I was still wearing my rings and heels Smile

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress? Not yet. Start at 35 weeks. I'm going to refuse except to get tested for Group B strep. Otherwise, I do not think I will get one until I'm in actual labor.

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP! Not yet. Having a "surprise" shower on March 9.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you? We just exchange the mushiest cards we can find. Otherwise, my husband is awesome at getting me flowers just because. And I'm pretty awesome at buying him random gifts too.

Also, AW because I missed HDBD yesterday:

  • Happy V Day, women!

    Week/Fruit - 30 weeks, a cabbage

Cheers/Jeers - cheers to MH for making a huge stockpile of frozen pasta sauce, stew and chili last weekend. He rocks! Jeers to the worst night of sleep ever last night. Tossing, turning, calendar reminders going off on my phone for other people's PTO - it was rough.

For our late April-ers, when will your doc start checking things out from the inside out? I'm hoping to avoid internal checks until it's show time. What good does knowing I'm at 2cm really do anyone?

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP!

    image

Yes, I had two! This PIP is of the amazing giant soft pretzel my sisters had made for my shower in my hometown. I am a soft pretzel MONSTER, so this actually made me tear up a little.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you? Nope, we aren't Valentine's people. I work for an organization that does a lot for Heart Month (February), so this whole month is just exhausting.

  • week 31 & Pineapple!

Feeling good starting to get a little more sleepy during my work day & if I sit to long my hips are a bit sore when I get up, but no real complaints.  Love feeling my lil man moving around like crazy in there!  I love my conversations with the hubby about our son we both get so excited :)

Not sure when I will get checked internally but I am on my biweekly appointments with a scheduled ultrasound @ 36 weeks which I can't wait for!

My shower is March 3rd but I checked my registry and somethings have been purchased!  We are having a baby skull & crossbones theme!

We usually do a card to each other and plan a night out after Valentines day to have a nice dinner, so tonite I will be cuddling on the couch with all three of my guys...the hubby, my lil man & my kitty!

  • Happy Valentine's Day!

    Week/Fruit: 32 Weeks / Squash

Cheers/Jeers: 8 more weeks left! Unfortunately, I am starting to feel like my insides are getting so smashed and twisted up. :(

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress? No internal yet, and I don't think one will be necessary unless there are any issues.

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP! Not yet.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you? Yes, it's nothing too extreme though. It's just a day that we spend together and enjoy each other's company. Go out for dinner, flowers, cards, etc.

  • Week/Fruit 32 weeks I'd have to check the fruit. Squash???

Cheers/Jeers Cheers: No longer sick with a cold, sinus infection OR stomach flu WOO!
Jeers: I've had a headache since I woke up on Monday!!!!

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress? I won't likely get an internal until my due date. That's the first internal I got with DS and the last until just before they broke my water to induce me (that same day)

For our late April-ers, when will your doc start checking things out from the inside out?

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP! No shower. No discussions of anything and I doubt I'll have one. I may have a "meet the baby" event later though.

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  If not, does that ever bother you? We usually just do dinner and cards or something. I hadn't planned on doing anything but hubs gave me a necklace this morning so now I'm scrambling.  I don't even have any food in the house and have no idea what to cook for dinner. Not that I'll have the energy for it by the time I get there.

  • Happy Valentine's Day!

    Week/Fruit  32 weeks and a Squash

Cheers/Jeers  Cheers for NSTs, I know we are getting close.  Jeers for my swollen wrists, they are miserable!

For our early April-ers, have you gotten an internal yet, and if so, any news on progress?  I am 4/11 and no internal exam thank goodness!

For our late April-ers, when will your doc start checking things out from the inside out?  She hasn't mentioned this, I am hoping not until the very end

Have you had your shower yet, if so, PIP!  Not yet - 3/3, I am excited!

Last one: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day, and if so, how?  My DH works an off-shift, so we celebrated at 2:30 a.m. LOL  Just exchanged gifts and lots of xoxoxoxox
